Purchased while back just getting chance to use. Smoked some jerky and works great,alot of smokers do not stay at low temp. but this one does!
As the initial reviewer mentioned regarding the door handle lock, it is not worth committing on. You just need to make sure you use the correct door lock of the two provided. As for the meats, I never had better tasting moist ribs and chicken breast. Now this is the way to cook chicken breast. And the ribs were so tender and juicy – really. What I like about it the most is that it cooks well as it smokes the meats. I had other smokers that took forever if not over night to cook. On my first use I cooked Chicken Breasts, Carne Asada Steaks, Sausages, Tri-Tip, and two slabs of meaty Ribs all at the same time and everything turned out wonderfully. I used the dry cast iron smoke dish with smoke chips soaked for an hour. You don't have to wait forever for the heat to generate to the desired temperature, just be ready to adjust it.
I bought this for my fiance for Christmas and he LOVES it! We've used it twice and plan to use it all summer. Can fit a ton of food inside. Uses a good amount of propane but it's worth it for the taste & tenderness.
I've only used a charcoal BBQ/smoker before I got this slow cooker/smoker and let me tell you I love this thing! You can take a tough piece of meat and slow cook it for hours on end and make it a great piece of meat. I plan to smoke my turkey in this cooker next Thanksgiving. This King Kooker is set up well for space inside, and the burner is very powerful. The only complaint I have is the doors don't have seals and when I pulled it out of the box a couple of rack slides were a little bent. (Just straightened them by hand.) If you look up the price of this smoker/cooker on other sites you'll find they want $300 or more. All in all a great cooker at a great $
This is our first propane smoker. Although ultimately this is a great smoker, and is designed very well, I do have a few things about it that bothered me. First is that the steel walls are pretty thin. I expected a much heavier gauge steel than what it was constructed of. It dents and bends way to easily. Second is that the assembly instructions are a complete joke. If I didn't have the skills that I do, I would have been lost in the assembly! I pretty much had to figure out everythink on my own. The instructions are worthless. Aside of these few things, I gave it good review marks based purely on how it functions as a smoker, which is excellent!
Works just fine, easy to set up. Have used twice now and am still learning smoker but am really enjoying using it.
Just used it yesterday for the first time. Only change would be the door locking mechanism is cheap, and the thermometer seems to be reversed (shows Celcius as the primary and Fahrenheit as secondary).
