I've been playing this game for many years now. I new I liked it before I ordered it.
One of the best rpgs. Fantastic game , awesome quality , you can tell so much work went into this amazing game
Reckoning is a fantastic game. You can kind of think of it as a MMO (Massive Multiplayer Online) game, but you are the only one on the server. There is no multiplayer at all on this game. I have been playing the game for more than 25 hours and I have barely even touched the main quest. You can kind of think of this game as World of WarCraft (WOW) with its, graphics and leveling system where you go out and kill mobs for experience and do quest (not all of them) for experience. You also level up like WOW and borderlands, where there are three tree like leveling, Might (Melee base), Sorcery (Magic base), and Finesse (stealth/bow base). When you spec in these, you will gain better abilities, moves, and powers. You really can not go wrong with what you go into, either is be all in one, a mixture of two, all three. My two friends play this as well and one is a full Sorcery, the other is full Finesse, and I am evenly with Might and Sorcery. We all love what we are game play as. What ever you do, you will get cards and you only get to pick one, but the more you spec in Might, Sorcery, Finesse, a mixture of two, or all three. You will get better skills, like for example if you pick just Might, you get better %'s on Melee attacks and defense. If you pick like I did and picked Might and Sorcery, you will get; if you get hit you gain 40% of that as mana and a % in Melee attack, but not as high as full Might skill. Every time you level, you get three points to spend in Might, Sorcery, or/and Finesse. There is also Skills you pick during every level. Detect Hidden, Blacksmithing, Stealth, and Alchemy to name a few. I would suggest getting Detect Hidden up to full before maxing out anything else, just because you don't go very far, with out finding treasure along your way threw the wilderness, caves, or even in peoples houses. If you have detect hidden all the way up. You see all of it on your mini map and other things. The nice thing is once you find a main location on the map. You can fast travel there. The story line in this game for the quests is kind of a coin toss. There are some quest story lines that I really want to lessen too and know the story and there are others that are just boring and I care less about and I just keep pressing X to skip it so I can just get more money, experience, or items. Just a heads up for the people who can never decide on what they want to pick as to leveling up skills, tree leveling, and cards; or just put your points in the wrong spot. You can respec at any time in the game as long as you have the coin to do so and you find the guy/gal to respec you. This is a great game and my friends and I have enjoyed it and are still playing it. Some day we will get to the main quest. The world is just teaming with quest and you can just go out there and kill for experience if you want to. The game is teaming with treasure everywhere. I would give this game a 4.5 out of 5, because if they had multiplaying on this game. If it had multiplaying, I would have given it a 5 rating, but still is a fantastic game to play.
