This microwave is totally awesome. Love the quietness while running, heats to perfection. Love the heavy super insulated door. Love the added convenience of having a small oven for baking smaller dishes. This is one elegant microwave! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
We had to replace our major appliances after a storm and wow, did we upgrade! This microwave is quiet, it heats evenly and very quickly. I love the reheat feature. And it looks cool too. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Looks great and works great. I have installed four over the range microwaves in past 20 years. This was easy. You will need two people as it is heavy.
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I bought this a couple of weeks ago as our current KitchenAid microwave had an error code. It was 8 years old and needed some parts. We decided to upgrade and get the new convention KitchenAid unit. I replaced the unit by myself and cannot fault the instructions in anyway. My wife and I love this new microwave and find it very quiet and efficient. It has loads of settings and accessories making it a one stop shop to cook anything we can cook in the oven. Thanks KitchenAid for another excellent kitchen must have!!
We bought this to replace our previous unit (which we loved). Thus far, we are very happy with this unit. It is quieter than the original unit and seems to be equal in heating capability! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
We got this after a power shortage killed all of our major appliances. I'm in love. It's very simple to use and heats things up evenly - and quickly! It's really quiet and the timer chime isn't intrusive. I like the brushed handle that hides fingerprints too. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 1200 watts take some getting used to but oh it's worth it. Love the features for once I'm using the microwave fir more than just reheating
My only issue with this product is the instruction booklet is not explanatory enough for all the different functions this microwave does. It could be much more descriptive and if it was, I am sure I would use all the functions more than I do. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Too early to say, but so far, all features work well. Fan is weak and doesn't take out much. Really hate that the turn table automatically goes on when baking (wish it didn't have to require to hit a button after the fact). [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Disclaimer: I am not associated to KitchenAid, nor a compensated voice in any way. I am a private consumer. I am hoping to explain and dispel some of the complaints about the venting capabilities of this unit by other reviewers. The plain truth is that a little bit of prior research would have helped these consumers a great deal. This unit specs are widely available. The vent CFM spec is 400 cfm. Most microwave competitors offer the same spec, and a very few offer 600 cfm. A little bit of conversation with a professional, or personal digging would have revealed that even with the best installation (conduit external venting) 400 cfm is only barely adequate for everyday cooking with over the range installation (OTR). This with all filters cleaned on a regular basis. Judging from the review video, the consumer has chosen to install his unit without external venting and OTR which is the worst choice! The venting and charcoal filter will barely handle smoke, particulates, and odors at 400 cfm. However, the venting is completely inadequate to handle extreme condensation, more because of science than inadequate specs. If your kitchen is cold, and you introduce hot moist air, you will have condensation everywhere almost immediately. Science fact. Witness what happens in your shower. This is not the fault of this unit. I suggest that any consumer faced with this problem should at least attempt to warm up the air in their kitchen beforehand to alleviate some of this problem, but it will still happen. No internal venting solution will eliminate this completely. Even 1000 cfm would not do the job. To give this unit a 1 star review because of this is wildly unfair. Overall, my experience with this microwave has been excellent. Yes, there are some valid complaints; the controls are somewhat complicated and not bright enough for some, there needs to be more helpful how-to videos for people who find the manual too difficult to follow, etc. But you can do things with this unit that easily takes the place of a full-size convection oven, toaster, air-fryer and more! I did my research before I bought this unit, and concluded that a separately installed OTR professional (1,200 cfm) externally vented exhaust, with the microwave installed under the cabinet to the left, was the best possible solution for all my needs (see photo). I highly recommend purchasing this microwave, especially for amateur chefs who occasionally smoke up the place with high-heat cooking! ;-)
