As you can expect from any KitchenAid product, it is a high quality kettle from the looks to the material. It feels sturdy, it's easy to use and clean, and has a nice whistling sound when the water is ready. Overall great value for the money. Plus, it goes well in our already empire red Kitchenaid kitchen! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I loved the look of this kettle and got comments on the color. However because it doesn't whistle I when ready the kettle was burned and the paint blistered and is now chipping away (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)
This is a beautiful, solid teakettle but I prefer one with a full handle and attached spout lever. This one feels heavy and awkward. Love the whistle. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)
it's very very pretty and I have a lot of other red kitchenaid stuff I got from my wedding but it doesn't really whistle- the seal on the spout stopper isn't really tight enough to make the steam go through the hole and whistle. So usually I just hang out and watch it when I need to use it. Today I got a call from my dr. (so I really needed to take it )and completely forgot the kettle- which wouldn't be a big deal if it made noise. The only noise it DID make was when it set off the smoke detector. The paint on the bottom is melted, the handle on the lid is melted, and oddly enough, it still has water in it?? What in the world. I love this kettle, it's beautiful, but it needs to make noise for someone to be able to walk away from it. So don't do that. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)
This tea kettle was PRIMO for the year or so we had it...until we dumped water to clean the inside and noted it was delaminates on the inside. It did rust a little on the bottom exterior and that didn't so much worry me until we looked inside. We definitely didn't expect that. How long have we been DRINKING THIS????
I loved my kettle but does not whistle... and while I was busy at house kettle was burned and paint is chipping away. Very disappointed...
I have been using this kettle 6 months and have noticed that around the rim where lid fits the kettle is rusting. The rust is so bad that in fact it walls into the water. I do not recommend this. Disappointed Kitchen Aid !!!!
The design puts all the weight of the water on one handle mount point which torques back and forth. First the paint cracked where the handle attaches, then it rusted, and now the metal piece which attaches to the plastic handle is breaking off of the pot—you can see light through the crack. Considering the price, this is pathetic. Too bad, it was pretty while it lasted.
I have only used this kettle twice and the inside bottom coating is coming apart. Now I can't use it anymore. Poor quality. Which is really disappointing because I love the design.
I bought this for a Christmas present. After 6 months the finish has come off on the inside. I take care of it by emptying of water each time. It's not a chemical scale. The finish is off. Hmmm. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
