I've been looking for the right kettle since I disposed of one I had used for over a decade and finally found this one. Its functionally is perfect. I love the ergonomic fit, the ease of use and the sound of the whistle is clear and pristine. I keep it sitting on my cook top as a colorful show piece when not in use. We always get very nice complements.
An amazing price, and amazing quality. I searched and read reviews on various tea kettles for a couple of years. Could not believe Sam's had this with free shipping and a great price. Substantial thickness to the metal with the enamel. Very pleased with it. I hope it lasts many years.
I bought this a month ago as a birthday present to myself. It was the exact color of red I wanted to match my kitchen. It does really whistle pretty loudly when the water starts to boil, then it gets louder and louder. The price was also pretty reasonable. It does put moisture in the air which is also great since during the winter time the air does get dry.
I enjoy a nice cup of tea in the evening. Microwaving is nice and very quick, but you only get one cup. With this tea kettle I can fairly quickly heat up a whole pot of water for my tea, and it stays nice and hot in the kettle. I got the red kettle as red is my accent color in my kitchen, so it looks beautiful on my stove. I've always left my kettle on the stove so it's important to me that it's functional and looks good. This one fits that bill.
I looked at page after page of teapots and reviews until finally the name KITCHENAID popped into my head! They are known for solid quality and performance with tasteful design. I as not disappointed! I've had this tea kettle for a I couple of weeks now and like it fairly well. The reason for the four star rating is because I was hoping the interior would be stainless steel without the porcelain coating like on the exterior. However, there is also porcelain coating on the inside.The tea kettle I had previous to this one was of the same construction and rusted on the bottom of the inside. With my new tea kettle, I am making sure to empty any leftover water when finished using it each time hoping to avoid another rusty kettle interior. I do love how it looks and feels. It pours much better than my old kettle even when it's full. It has an expensive look for a good price. Mine is the perfect shade of red and it whistles nicely when the water boils. I would recommend this product only if you are willing to empty it after each use to prevent it rusting out.
I've enjoyed using this product, the whistle is audible, it holds a good amount of water, etc. However, the screw that holds the handle near the spout has decided to come loose, which is a worrisome problem. Worse, it seems to refuse to go back in in order to fix it.
To be fair, we have used our kitchen aid kettle almost every day for four years so it's served us well. But lately it developed so much rust on the inside that we have had to discard it since it was just too unhealthy to keep drinking the colored water that came out of it. Bought another electric kitchen aid kettle to replace it, hopefully this one lasts longer.
I purchased this item 6 months ago for my fiance. The enamel is cracking a flaking off. I bought the kitchenaid tea kettle because I expected quality. The design is great. The handle is easy to grasp and use. The wide lid makes cleaning easy. I
I usually trust your brand so I bought this kettle last fall. Within 6 months the whistle and lever broke. Decided to keep using it and after a year, it's basically garbage. It looks awful. No longer whistles and will go in the garbage. I didn't keep my receipt (it wasn't electric so what could possibly go wrong?) so at very least letting others know that quality is horrible and not worth the money.
