(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I bought this item because I owned one in my previous residence. It seems like the burners are mor efficient and the double oven is a must have for me. It bakes evenly and grilling is a breeze. The previous one I owned was the best I ever had and I just had to buy another one for my new residence.
We just completed a total kitchen remodel and this 5 burner gas double oven is simply the best! It is the showpiece in the kitchen with its professional grade handles, velvety smooth burner dials, gorgeous double ovens with convection, I just cant wait for the holidays! Exceptional quality, perfect design and this baby makes you want to stay in the kitchen and cook all day long! Do yourself a favor, treat yourself to this wonderful piece of art, not just an appliance.
Much better than expected
So happy with it installed last week
This is my second dual fuel range and there are multiple features that make this superior to the JennAir I previously owned. The 5 burners are all usable which wasn't the case on the JennAir - I like how the pots sit higher off the burners and that the racks are even- the griddle heats completely allowing you to utilize the full griddle making it a bonus feature and when not cooking on it makes a great place to rest utensils. The high powered burner brings things to a boil quickly which is great when I use my pressure cooker and so far everything I have done in the oven has come out perfectly. Being a family of two we love the small oven - only thing I miss from the last range is the toast feature but I have already figured out how to make perfect toast without the feature - I have always hesitated on buying stainless steel due to the fingerprint issue but that doesn't seem to be a problem - I prefer this to the black range I previously owned. Great job Kitchenaid!
I love the appearance of this range. It exudes a feeling of high quality. It took a little time to figure out the controls. Reading the manual is a must if you plan to use the 'easy convect' options. I have yet to successfully convection-cook anything. Both my attempts failed. Roasted potatoes didn't crisp and muffins failed to cook in the middle. (I stick to the manual convection cooking now, instead of letting it automatically lower the temperature and time.) A few things to note: 1. This range does NOT function without power. There is a safety solenoid that cuts the gas supply with power disabled. 2. You can't quickly switch baking modes (Bake > Roast > Warm). You must select 'Off' first and start from scratch every time. 3. You can change temperatures on the fly by simply keying the new temperature in at any time. 4. You can't broil or roast or bake with the door open. (On my old oven, broil was always 500°F, and the element would be on even when the door was open. This was my preferred method for broiling.) This oven allows you to set a broil/roast temperature and then the door MUST be closed for the element to cycle on. 6. The oven feels like it is slow to preheat. I think it takes nearly 20 minutes to preheat the smaller oven. I did notice that the left grate was warped. The center site about 1/8" higher than the front and back edges, so pan's don't sit level. KitchenAid sent a free replacement grate, but the replacement exhibits the same flaw. I'm hoping they can track down a good grate for me. If they can, I'll make this a 5-star review again.
When we purchased this model, there was not one in the store to check out. A friend had bought one and was so excited about it that when we moved we decided to buy all Kitchenaid appliances. I am happy so far! The timer and oven controls are taking a little time to get used to (We have had it for approximately 2 months)! The only downside I have really noted so far is having to basically disassemble the stovetop to clean it!
I replaced an electric smooth top range with this dual fuel double oven range. Overall, I am loving it so far! The range looks good in my kitchen and I have found it very easy to use. I've used the stove top and both ovens at different times; I haven't used both ovens at the same time yet but, I know that feature is going to be useful! The only cons I have noticed at this point is the oven light operates both ovens at the same time, and the steamer rack was discolored/rusted right out of the packaging.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the KitchenAid oven with high hopes, but unfortunately, I've encountered some significant issues. Within just a few weeks of use, the stainless steel around the burners started turning brown, and the discoloration is spreading, which is quite unsightly. Another major drawback is that the gas burners completely shut off when there's a power outage or when the keys are locked. Living in Florida where hurricanes are a concern, this feature is a significant downside. Gas stoves are typically relied upon during power outages for boiling water and cooking essentials, but this oven fails to meet that basic expectation. Furthermore, despite searching for a solution, I haven't found a way to override this automatic shut-off feature, which further limits its usefulness during emergencies. For a product in this price range, I expected better functionality and durability. Regrettably, I cannot recommend this oven for those who value reliability and resilience, especially in challenging situations like power outages.
Today I turned the knob on the stove to turn a burner off and in doing so, my finger nail bed was sliced and metal shards were imbedded into my index finger. The incredibly poor design of chrome tape applied the burner knob housing unit is peeling and a dangerous hazard to any user. This is affecting all knobs on this model. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of this stove and expected to have a safe, well made product.
