[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this as a gift. It is so quiet compared to other coffee grinders. It's also very easy to use. I love it!
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Great coffee grinder, amazing upgrade from our previous one. So many available settings for different types of coffee (we mostly use drip and french press settings), so much easier to make coffee at home.
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) This coffee grinder is the best grinder I have ever had the pleasure of using! It's QUIET, efficient, clean and very simple to use. Oh, and did I mention beautiful?! It's also very simple and easy to clean! Well worth the money.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this grinder for one month now. It is noticeably very, very quiet. It takes up little counter space and looks like it belongs there. The digital display is intuitive and easy to read. The control buttons are haptic which I personally prefer over touch controls. Grind settings are finely dialed in, and can be fine tuned even more by the interior conical basket. This is fantastic for espresso enjoyment since grind size is so key. Incredibly there is zero static in the collection jar. There is a handy magnetically attached cradle for directly grinding into porta filter baskets; but note it is only for 54mm and 58mm sizes; a 51mm will not stay secured. Only improvement I could think of is to proved an optional single dose bellows feature
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used burr grinders for about 30 years. This one is by far the best I've owned and I haven't ever purchased a cheap grinder. It is low speed so no burning the beans during the grind. And it is VERY quiet. But my favorite aspect is that this truly is the "Anti-Static Technology" really works. No more coffee flying everywhere when the bin is removed. No more light coating of coffee on the counter. No more coffee coating the rim of the Chemex. The only downside I see is the height. Yes, it is truly 15 inches tall. They say it fits under most kitchen cabinets, because it doesn't fit IN most of them. It is 5 inches taller than my last one. Is it a beast? Yes, but I love this beast!
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I bought this as a gift for Christmas, we have been using it ever since. This is the best coffee grinder we have owned. Very quiet, even and precise grinding, and extremely clean. No grounds on the counter is the biggest plus of all. Highly recommend this grinder!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Major upgrade from my previous coffee grinder. It is much more quiet compared to my old grinder. The quality of the components and controls make for a satisfying experience. I also enjoy that it has an auto shut off so that I can leave it plugged in unlike my previous grinder.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So here is the quick lowdown: Super quiet, grinds exactly what you need, super high quality. Maybe the only minus is the plastic cup for ground, I think I may prefer glass. But, this is nitpicking.
Second time I am reviewing this grinder - first time around it was great, until it wasn't. The thing sounded like a 747 on full throttle. Kitchen Aid was gracious enough to replace my unit and the second one has been fine for about ten months. Now, the amount of static the unit produces makes it almost unusable. Every time I grind, coffee grinds flies all over the place. Dumping it in my coffee maker basket - same thing. Grinds all over my counter top and cabinetry. And yes, I have maintained and cared the grinder - cleaning periodically as suggested. They should make this very expensive unit with a glass canister, not a plastic one.
I bought one of these based on all the positive reviews I've seen, so yes, it does: 1) Look really cool 2) Have a quieter grinding noise 3) Have NO static cling 4) Store many beans in its hopper 5) Have a very complex set of grind setting options 5a One of which I can't understand why they did it the way they did BUT IT DOESN'T GRIND COFFEE WELL! I use mostly drip coffee which requires a medium grind, but when set on medium (perc), it produces a fine grind resulting in bitter coffee. Setting on the coarsest grind results in a medium/fine grind - THERE IS NO WAY TO GET A GOOD MEDIUM GRIND LET ALONE A COARSE/MEDIUM GRIND! But, to be fair, I tried setting it on 1 (coarsest) and the coffee was still on the bitter side. (There is a fine adjust setting, but it just makes the grind finer...and not by much). So I'm at a loss as to how this grinder got all these good reviews. Oh, and to be sure, I ordered another grinder and, Walla, same results. Therefore I have to believe this is a basic design issue. I really wanted to like this grinder and felt really bad about returning both, but back they go. As added info, the attached picture shows the coarsest grind from my Baratza Encore in the upper left and the medium grind from the Baratza in the lower left. The four on the right show the KitchenAid set at MAX course (1) and other settings. As you can see, this grinder has a problem grinding anything but medium/fine grind.
