Attractive kitchen tool that earns center place in my kitchen because its problem solving attributes. Efficient and reliable is my mony's worth. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)
It's very versatile item. I make many of my own sauces from scratch, so grinding fresh tomatoes and vegetables quickly and efficiently are a necessity. The food processor is the perfect item, and it even fits nicely in my small kitchen space. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great appliance to have for your cooking needs! I brought this item a month ago.
I bought this last month to replace a Cuisinart. I am so glad I went with this one!! For one thing you can put actual food into the chute. You don't have to cut up food(which always seemed to defeat the purpose). It is a nice wide slot. You don't dump out the sharp knife when you empty the bowl- the knife stays in place. Removing the slicing blade doesn't require you to hold a sharp object by the rim, it has finger holes on top so you get a firm grip. This machine is very well engineered and answers all the questions you had for years when you asked why did they do that? Now you say wow, it's great they finally did that!!! It's a wonderful tool in the kitchen, as evidenced by this year's gingerbread house, which it powered right through! (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)
There are several features of this machine that I really like, and was the reason I chose this model. I love the adjustable slicing control, having a choice of bowl size, nice discs and blades. However there are several issues that are not good. Lots of soft food gets trapped under the rim of the lid (my old Cuisinart lid did not do this) or gets trapped on top of the blade. I consider these minor annoyances though. What I really do not like is the grime that has collected under the black plastic of both the bowl and the lid. There is no way to clean this. And recently the silver post broke off the lid and I glued it on. While it still works, I'm sure it is short lived and I will either need to buy replacement parts or may buy a new machine. If I buy a new machine, it will probably not be a KitchenAid
This machine does what it claims....chops, slices, etc. But it is a pain in the butt. If you have a small and quick job like chopping nuts or shredding a few carrots you still have to assemble the four piece lid and then take it apart and wash each piece as they are all exposed to the food. Large Chunks of food even whole mini carrots get stuck under the rim of the lid wasting food product and making cleaning even more tedious. Water gets under the black portion of the lid that never fully dries.....mold? Not cool. Also, carrots stained the clear plastic after the first use, despite using vinegar, dishwasher, hand washing.... I find myself not using it if I need to process just one thing because of the hassle of taking it apart and cleaning the whole thing....which takes way more time than chopping by hand....I feel like if you get this complex food processor you'll also need to invest in a mini food processor with less pieces and cleanup. I want something large capacity but easier to use and clean with less pieces necessary. I don't want to have two food processors! (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)
So very disappointed that I spent so much money on this product. I honestly thought a KitchenAid product would be "cream of the crop"! There is a very significant design flaw in this machine. Food gets caught under the lid and makes such a mess and is nearly impossible to clean out.
I had an older KitchenAid processor that I LOVED. Unfortunately the new model has a serious design flaw. There is nothing to hold the blade in place so any soft foods just travel up inside blade, down shaft and wrap around motor port. The machine then overheats and shuts itself off. It needs repeated cleaning to just get through small jobs. I tried making salsa, grating cheddar cheese and making bread dough. I tried to contact the company but website has no phone number. I returned it to the store. Real bummer, man. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)
I have always been a huge fan of KitchenAid but I will never buy any of their products again. I received a food processor as a wedding gift 25 years ago. I used it until it was worn out and over it. Once again I was given another and had no problems other than the blade hit dull and was unable to get it sharpened or even buy a new one even through the company. I was given one last year as a gift and absolutely hate it! The things I hate about the processor are: The chute to put food through to the shredder. It’s too small, you have to cut to fit in small mouth and the plunger - it doesn’t go down far enough so the last inch of what ever is in the tube either ends up gummed up inside the lid (cheeses) or cut into uneven, odd shaped pieces. And the device fir the chute is 3 pieces and the main part has to stay inside to maintain contact or it work. Stupid!! When trying to chop foods (like parsley) into fine pieces the blade is too high so it doesn’t chop the food, it either sits on the bottoms of the bowl or gets pushed to the side of the bowl and out of the blades way. The buttons to push (high, low or pulse) are so difficult to use. If you have arthritis or are weak you will have a hard time using them. The whole unit is so light. While the other processors I had in the past had some heft to them this one is too light and it moves on the counter while struggling to chop/shreds/slice. This are the things that bother me the most and are right on the top of my head. I wish I had the money back so I could buy something better quality. I will never buy KitchenAid products again and that’s a darn shame.
Not impressed kitchenaid! The quality of construction is good… but everything else sucks. The blade is VERY slow. Does NOT move the food . Tried to mince cabbage (which I do all the time in my old oster food processor)…. Half of the cabbage turned to absolute mush and the rest didn't even get pulled into the blade. Tried to slice carrots! Don't bother. Slices some, breaks others, ZERO consistency. The other thing and most ridiculous of all is the shredder attachment! What in the world! There is ZERO seal between the shredder attachment and the gear on top of the base unit! Do you know how gross that would get! See the pictures and don't buy this. Kitchen aid fail.
