[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the beater. It is heavy grade high quality steel, and attached like any other KitchenAid attachment. I used it make chocolate chip cookies. These cookies turn out better if you use cold butter, I dropped the whole stick in and it mixed it. The mixer folded it in quickly and easily. I also used this to shred left over cooked chicken for tacos. It saved me a lot of time. And allowed me to mix my seasons in with the chicken more evenly. Thank you KitchenAid for making another great product.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was excited to try this blade out as making pie crusts, scones, and flaky dough bases used to be a 2 bowl process. First using a food processor and then mixing the dough together in my mixer or on the counter. The pastry beater is able to break down shortening and butter so you can do everything in one bowl. I do find the blade doesn't cut down butter as evenly as does a food processor, but it gets it pretty close. I just make sure to start with smaller pieces of butter. I like that this blade has a non stick coating so it rinses off pretty well. The extra lines across does mean more dough pieces can stick to the blade, but overall still an improvement to the process! I'm glad to have this in my toolkit.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Finally, a beater that really helps incorporate butter into flour, etc. It's so hard cutting in by hand, the ease and smoothness of this beater is perfect. This is going to be my go to attachment for my kitchenaide. Truly an awesome gadget.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this KitchenAid Bowl-Lift Pastry Beater to try out and it works great! I used it to make cookies and it not only separated the mixer perfectly, it was much faster than the other beater I had in my mixer. Very super product and easy to clean! Highly recommend anything by KitchenAid!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love my kitchen aid mixer. I had no clue that a pastry beater even existed!! It's a game changer ! I have used it to cut in butter to my dough which it does flawlessly but my favorite way to use it is to schred chicken! It's makes the perfect chicken salad. I will be gifting one of these to the cooks in my family!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We recently got a KitchenAid pastry beater. In the box you get instructions, a batter scraper, and the beater itself. All are KitchenAid quality and result in a quality pastry. The beater itself is well made and had no problems attaching to our KitchenAid mixer. The beater bars are well-spaced and resulted in a perfectly mixed batter. I'd definitely recommend purchasing it (but, make sure you have a model, listed on the packaging, that is compatible with this mixer). After all, not all KitchenAids are the same. ;)
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was accustomed to using my handheld pastry blender to cut butter into pastry dough, mix biscuits and cookie dough. Yet, since I recently retired, I am spending more time in the kitchen building my pastry skills, and delivering on friends' and my family's requests for more homemade bakery treats, so I was excited to learn that KitchenAid produced a pastry beater for stand mixers. I wanted to try a new way to create quality dough with less effort to add to my baking and cooking enjoyment, and I trust KitchenAid to produce the right and best tool. For my first attempt, I followed the “Quick Start Recipe” printed in the booklet enclosed in the Pastry Beater box, and was delighted that the ingredients, instructions, and Pastry Beater performance worked together to produce a light, flaky crust for my pie. My family praised this first of the season Honeycrisp Apple Pie, and the tender biscuits and tasty scones I made using the pastry beater in subsequent creative baking sessions. The beater design works beautifully to cut cold butter into flour, creating consistent small pieces quickly to prevent overmixing pastry doughs, and I am thrilled that it also worked to shred pulled pork and mash avocados for guacamole. I highly recommend the KitchenAid Pastry Beater as a must-have stand mixer accessory.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My other pastry beaters always lost their coating after very minimal use. The KitchenAid Pastry Beater is heavy duty and such a high quality attachment. I am not worried about how much dough I have nor do I have to do batches. My dough does not stick to this which makes clean up so much easier!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] With the holidays coming, I was excited to try the KitchenAid pastry beater for Bowl-Lift stand mixers. However, when I finally had the time to make pie crusts, the KitchenAid Bowl-Lift pastry beater did not fit properly in my KitchenAid mixing bowl. I fit on the shaft of the mixer arm but the beater was not centered in the bowl. I should have looked closer at what mixers it was compatible with as the model I have KSM5PSWW was not listed on the box. I just assumed that because it said it was for bowl-lift stand mixers that it would work on my mixer. I have had my mixer for over 20 years (Yeah, Kitchenaid!!) and did not think they would have changed their mixer, but my mistake! I am sure that it works perfectly with the correct model of mixer as Kitchenaid makes innovative and quality products.
Pastry beater works exactly how it was advertised.
