I have used Klipsch speakers for their great movie-like sound and this subwoofer is no exception. It will give your movie watching an extra audio experience. I really appreciate using the sub's "auto" setting. When it senses a subwoofer track, it immediately turns itself on. I never have to worry about whether the sub is on or off. The green LED is my signal that the sub is working perfectly. My only complaint is that this sub is pricey. But when you consider what it adds to the rest of your system it seems worth it.
Great bang for the buck. Definitely would recommend to anyone.
Fantastic Sub. My last Klipsch Sub lasted 20 years! I thought it was great, but this one is crazy good! Very very smooth accurate bass. It's Ported to the front - so when something explodes on TV, you get a woosh of air from the port (my sub is located front and center aimed directly at me). Kinda weird, but kinda cool.
This thing is absolutely sick. It's so loud. Shakes the entire house from the basement.
The best speakers on the planet!!! The quality of this sub is unbelievable.
Subs sound great, tight kick drum and dips pretty low and shakes the house. I wish I would have gotten one 15” and one 12” but I can always use another one or two.
Has a lot of punch, bought it in conjunction with the fives. Had both the Fives and the Spl-120 outside on the 4th while cooking on the grill. Felt like i was at a concert hall. Listening distance was about 15ft or so away.
The subwoofer sounds great. Room size is 30x17, using a 7.1 surround amp (Denon AVR-X1600H) with sub settings as shown in attached picture. The sound is FANTASTIC!! This sub has/adds the depth from breaking glass to dinosaurs walking. This is a nice investment/addition. Waiting on a sale to buy other speakers.
Klipsch, keepers of the sound! Thei RP-SPL-120 is amazing. More bass tones than I've ever heard before. Tell the neighbor's I said hello, no kidding!
I had the opportunity to test the SPL-120 and the R-120sw before deciding. While the R-120sw is a nice entry level sub it lacks deep base for movies and feels over worked. I would recommend people to look at the SPL-120. It feels like it weighs 25lbs more, even though it's only 14lbs heavier. The vinyl finish looks professional and unlike the R-120sw it looks seamless. The front slot port adds a nice visual element that helps it stand out. The performance was well accepted. For my home theater the sub delivered nicely with the lower frequencies and filled the viewing area well. Some of the intense action scenes I was able to feel the vibration unlike the R-120sw. For music I thought the sub kept up well with a lot of the bass frequencies. I didn't give it 5 stars because I never got the wow factor from it. It was an improvement from my previous 12" sub but didn't blow the doors off of it. I'm very happy with the purchase and it matches nicely with my Klipsch home theater speakers.
