i have it for my 3 mollies but till then i switch them to a ten gallon, and breed my bettas in there, he is making bubble nest and it works really great i love it
This is a great little tank for the price. Tanks similar to this cost about $5 more at the pet store. This is great for one Betta, one goldfish, or a couple of very small fish. This is a very basic tank, it does not come with gravel, plants, food, water conditioner, and the like. So if you are a beginner, it may turn out cheaper to spend a little more and buy an all-inclusive kit, rather than buying all of these things seperately. As I already had all of the extras at home, this was a great deal for me. One drawback I find is the undergravel filter. Undergravel filters really don't do much unless you have the carbon cartridges that fit onto the top of the filter tube, and those have been hard to find in my experiences. Also, the air stone causes too much bubbling on the surface of the water, to where the fish cannot clearly see food floating on the top. I ditched the undergravel filter and put in a Lee's Discard-A-Filter, what I always end up using for my fish. They are small and don't cause a lot of water disturbance. With the filter tube gone there is also a lot more room for plants or decorations. Again, very nice value for a very basic tank. If it's all you need, go for it and you will save a lot. If you are just starting out and need everything, go for an all-inclusive kit. There are good ones out there for around $20.
This fish tank is a great product and a great value. My daughter's Betta fish have lived to be at least 3 years old in this tank with bubbler! It is easy to clean and is durable too.
I got this tank about a week ago and it works GREAT for my new Betta. It stays clean and looks good wherever I put it. The only complaints I have are the filter tube being right in the middle and the filter stone makes too many bubbles, causing water to spill out of the feeder hole and leave water on the counter. Because of the filter tube being in the middle, I cant really put decorations where I want to, but it is great for a bubble show! Overall a fantastic product. TWO THUMBS UP!!
This is my first aquarium. It was easy cheap and easy to set up. My betta fish seems to like it. The only complaint that I have is that the light does get hot very fast. I don't leave it on for very long.
I highly recommend you to start off with something like this. I'm 14 years old i've had one of these for about a year now and i'm currently changing to a 5 gallon aquarium (Getting more fish!!=}). At my Wal-Mart it was only 10 dollars and it was worth it... but with every great product there's a downer. It could really use a better filter system. Its current one is quite cheap. So i also recommend you get one of those algae sucking fish. Weavea8341
I got this funky little tank for my 1st Betta fish. The triangular design makes for very interesting reflections that add to the visual experience. With a little effort you can fit both air hose and heater cable through the gap in the lid and provide your fishy friend with water circulation and heat. Just don't buy any tank decorations until you've seen the space you have to work with.
It's sturdy, easy to put together, clear, and comes complete with everything you'll need except the gravel, water treatment, and fish. Wish I'd bought another one; my betta Sushi is very happy in this! Cool idea: go through your Christmas lights and find a colored bulb that will fit the lamp. I found a nice blue one that brings out Sushi's colors nicely!
I bought this tanks when i decided to get a betta fish his name is Oscar. I liked the price and it fits perfectly on my desk in my room. The only thing is is that the so called filter is not really a filter its an air pump. so it gives the fish air but i still have to change the water out once a week. Another thing it the bulb in the hood gets pretty hot so you might want to get a lower wattage bulb. The light keeps the water some what warm but not warm enough for my betta. Bettas need a temp. between 78-82 degrees so i did have to buy a heater. Some people complain that the air pump is to loud but you can adjust how much air you want. the pump can screw in different directions so you can try that. you can also tape it down to keep it from rattling to much. It is an odd shape so you can't put alot in so i just have one plant. Other wise Oscar is pretty happy in it, but i do plan on getting him a bigger tank and keeping this one for breeding fry.
I own a 55 gallon tank so on a whim, I bought this and a betta fish: I could have sworn screamed out from Walmart's shelf - "take me home with you", plus this tank. I could not put him in my big tank. So, I am not lacking experience in aquariums (20 years) but was very disappointed in the light. Yes, not the air pump but the light. It seems to be very dull to me and it heated up the top so much I was afraid the plastic would melt. PROS: Small and convenient for placing on counters Easy cleaning Feeding hole Nice setup for the beginner Quiet pump (if too loud, place a towel underneath Price Good for night light (not bright at all) CONS: Light gives off too much heat (top got hot fast) Air tube in middle of tank No filter (this is an air stone only setup) Light is not bright like I thought it would be Shape makes it hard to put accessories in I would recommend this to someone who is not a fish enthusiastic and they just want a cheap tank for their betta. I personally will take this one back and buy a bigger one. This is just not a tank for me but others will enjoy this one for their children and to place on their desk for some fish company. Yes, this does not come with gravel, plants, or decorations, but what made it perfect for me, I already had those things. I have no clue why they out the 'underground filter part' in this tank. It really serves no purpose since it has no filter to pull the debris under it - it just came with an air stone to put some oxygen in the tank and make it look pretty. Overall, it is an okay tank, just not for me.
