Box is awesome; lots of storage. Curve of box makes a great "seat" back when resting. One drawback is only two bolts to secure box. Should have 4. This is easily remedied though by purchasing additional bolts.
The box lid is a little more flexible than I would have expected but it works fine. I like the extra tall sides for added storage. The latches are also very good.
I already owned one and after 700 plus miles of mtn. trails, sand dunes, rained on, rolled over on, deformed twice to the point of poping off the cover lid, I'd say it's tough enough. I called 'kolpin' to buy a new lid because to original one was scuffed and scratched up, and the nameplate emblem scared up from the first rollover, ...... they wouldn't consider it. No product support. I bought the second box for my second ATV, like the first the box it keeps the mud out, most of the dust and just about all the water out. They clean up quick, and keep the contents secure. Besides that, it looks cool. It would be a plus, if the pad lock hasp, molded into the box, would line up so it could be padlocked, ... but that's not too big a deal. Why mold it into the design unless it's supposed to line up????? It comes with 2 "U" bolts for mounting it to the rear rack, and that seems to be about half of what it takes to actually keep it from shifting around once it gets some cargo, and the trail gets bumpy.
For spring and summer 4-wheeling, this product works very well to keep your gear and extra clothes dust-free and dry. I have not actually field-tested this particular one yet, but know others who have them and like them. I greatly prefer this method over the zipper or velcro bags. It seemed as though dust was always clogging the zippers and velcro making getting into the bag a nuisance. My only complaint with this particular one is that they only give you two brackets to mount to ATV frame...I think they should give you at least four.
The box has a gasket to seal which is good. The box measures 36 1/2 inches in length of which 2 inches account for the handles. Don't expect a full 36 1/2 inches of useable storage. Would prefer a box opening from the back of the ATV but with the contour design this this may not be feasible.
