I bought this in Orange and citrus green. Both are see threw colored gloss. Not a true paint. colors are pretty but more like a stained glass effect.

I've had 40+ years of experience and painted many things with many paints, but I agree this is possibly the worst paint I have encountered for coverage. Seems a lot like children's water colors. I do think you could get better coverage with water and food coloring. In years past Krylon has produced good some products but this is certainly not one of them.

Krulon Cover Maxx-True Blue

I have used Krylon spray paint for years with good results. The acrylic latex enamel Cover Maxx-True Blue was not satisfactory. I brushed on 2 coats of good primer, which dried overnight. After a light sanding with 220 grit, I put a total of three coats of Cover Maxx. Two coats one day and the third coat the following day. 3 coats and I can still see the primer underneath the steaks. This is the worst paint I have ever used. The bookshelves I have painted look terrible. I may paint over it with another brand of paint. It is frustrating when I should be finished with the painting and should be mounting the shelves on the supports.

Worst paint I've ever tried!

This is without a doubt the worst paint I have ever tried. The color is wonderful. If I could have got this paint to stick, I would have loved the color. Unfortunately the color is it's only plus. I wanted to paint the back of three of my aquariums. One was Acrylic, two were glass. I know little about paint and was told to pick Krylon water based spray paint by fellow aquarists. I can't spray paint without getting it every where so decided to use canned paint. People online said to use a sponge roller only to apply it to glass. I bought an 8oz can which said it would do 36 square feet. More than enough to do 2 sides and back of one small aquarium, I thought. I decided to try the smallest glass tank first as a test. I cleaned the surface with water and dried it before starting. There were no fingerprints or dirty spots on the surface of the glass. I decided since this was a test, I would paint the smaller side panel only as a 1st test. I taped off the trim and nearby sides to keep paint off those surfaces. The first attempt to get a coat on the 12.5" X 12.5" outside glass surface was disastrous. This paint would not stick to the glass at all. The rollers were applying it fine but any paint on the glass surface just immediately pooled or was pushed by the rollers to become drops running to the bottom. This paint would not stick to the glass at all. After two hours of trying to get a 1st coat, I finally got barely enough to stick (although extremely thin). It looked awful with several spots running. Any attempt to even those spots out just picked up the paint and removed it form the glass. I also used the brush to get the tiny areas that the rollers couldn't get to. The brush also just pushed this paint around without it sticking at all. But I was told by those who do this that 1st coats often looked bad. So I waited about 18 hours for it to dry before trying a 2nd. It did not get better with later coats. This paint won't even stick to itself. After 5 coats, its still looking horrible and won't stick to anything except my skin and the cardboard the tank was sitting on. I gave up after having used the entire 8oz can and starting another 32 oz can and barely getting a thin coat on the 12 X12 inch glass. I wish I would have read the reviews on the red color in this type before. Several people had the same problem with this paint on other surfaces. But unfortunately, I'm the 1st to review the blue and didn't see those reviews. Thinking maybe the problem was this paint was having a problem with only the glass surface and the fact that I still had about 25 oz left, I decided to try it on the back of the small acrylic tank. Maybe it would stick to the plastic surface better. I prepped and cleaned the acrylic tank. I attempted to get a 1st coat on the acrylic surface and found that this paint wasn't sticking to it either. It was merely pooling and dripping. Again about two hours went by and I had barely got a thin coat on the acrylic. It stuck great to my skin and the cardboard it dripped down on. So I did not continue this fiasco and just stopped. To verify if the problem was the surfaces of the tanks or the paint, I had a few pieces of scrap wood I decided to test on next. I used a brush this time. Same thing. Won't stick well to the wood either and took 5 coats to get a little one foot 2 x 4 painted. So I've used up an 8oz can and most of a 32 oz can and barely got three feet of coverage and non-sticking paint. Also this stuff won't wash off your hands or tools with soap and water as stated on the label even while still wet. The pans, brushes and rollers used are permanently stained blue. It took over an hour of scrubbing to get it off my skin. God knows how harmful t it probably is to the body. I can't warn you highly enough to stay away from this paint. It's the most awful stuff I have ever used. I had to spend hours removing this horrible paint from the surfaces tested and myself. Unless you are painting skin or cardboard, it won't stick to wood, acrylic or glass. Other reviewers of the other colors have also remarked on how many coats it took. DONT BUY THIS PAINT!!!!!!!
