I restore old tin toys and this paint goes on real smooth with no orange peal or runs. Wish more colors were available.

Does not bond to expanded PVC sheets

I am unhappy with Krylon Dual Superbond. I sprayed it onto clean white expanded PVC material. It went on very nicely and evenly. Looked great. But... the dried paint scratches off the surface very easily. "Superbond" it is not. I am using the 8818 Gloss Smoke Gray. Now I have to scratch off all the paint and start over. About 4 sq feet of it. I would gladly have used the Fusion in Pewter Gray but that is not available in the five stores that I checked in Orlando. The Fusion black is available here and I used that for another application, also on expanded PVC. That paint bonded very nicely but it took four or five coats to get a good black. In a separate complaint, I find that the Search box on your krylon.com web page is useless: it always returns a "not found" result. Even when I type in a search phrase copied from a page that I am looking at. It will not find "Fusion", "Fusion for Plastic", "Dual", "Dual Superbond", etc. Useless. Sad. Very Sad. Not for important projects.

While typically I tryst Krylon products. This product did not perform as advertised. I have a tray I built to hold my cell phones. As the surface was new, I assumed this product would deliver a nice result. After sanding and cleaning the tray, I sprayed with the Krylon dual. The coverage was thin and the color did not pop. It was obvious this was going to be a 2 coat process. I reviewed the can and allowed 72 hours before re-coating; which exceeded the label directions by 24 hours. On applying the second coat the first coat started cracking and bubbling up much like I was spraying stripper. I will now have to sand and strip my project and start over. Time lost, additional fuel cost and double materials purchased.

I tried to use both the Gloss Black and Gloss Clear on a project which has a plastic substrate, I am an experienced painter and followed the directions as I always do. The color coats did not come out well at all the first time, so I figured it was my error, so I sanded down after 2 days and tried again with the same result. Where the paint did flow out it was dull and not very glossy, and in other patches the finish was rough as if it was a dry spray, but it had definitely gone on wet. So, I decided to color wet sand and add the clear to hopefully salvage the finish. After another 2 days and getting the color coat sanded reasonably smooth for a gloss coat I used the Dual Gloss Clear. Immediately, using light coats as directed, the finish wrinkled as if the solvents are not compatible. The project is nearly ruined at this point so my next task is to strip the finish completely and try a different product. I will NOT be buying any Krylon products in the future, an afternoon paint job has turned into a week long nightmare... hopefully it will be over soon once I switch products.
