I used this on my painted wood outdoor décor worked great! No runs and didn't harm the acrylic paint. Hoping its as water proof as they say.
I also had an issue when applying this product. It was a difficult and time consuming ordeal to get my project to its final stage because the clear coat reacted to an automotive clear coat that was previously sprayed and underneath. When I sanded down to the automotive surface and broke through its "surface" there was a reaction that caused the color master to warp and fish eye. However, areas where the automotive coat were undisturbed turned out excellent. I wish there was something that stated that the product not could but would react with certain under coatings and that it is best to be used on raw material and certain kinds of paint because I would have saved some money, materials and a whole lot of time and would have just stuck with the automotive clear coat or I would have sanded back down all the way to wood. No stain, no paint.... all hardwood with 2 layers of automotive under coating for durability. Overall, this product leaves a desirable finish and I will buy it again because I like the product I will just be more cautious next time and test it in an area I can mesh up next time before spraying the whole project.
The instructions say nothing about the type of surface this can be used on except to say wood, plastic, etc. I tried to use this as a sealer over a barn quilt (a quilt square pattern on a large board backing) and though I won't go so far as to say it ruined it, it did not produce the desired results. After spraying, it dried with a layer of what appeared to be dust, which could be brushed off. We stupidly repeated the process thinking it might improve, but it did not. Each time a layer of dust appeared. I was The finish was supposed to be satin, but the result was a very matte chalky surface. Be careful what you use this on. They tell you to test somewhere before use, and that is good advice. I have never experienced this type of result with any other spray paint I have used before.
This sucks made redo whole paint process make it flat not gloss
Made a photo block ornament. Wood block, covered with paper and then photos (prints), coated with Mod Podge, allowed to dry 2 days. Sprayed with Krylon Crystal Clear. OMGOODNESS! The pictures images appear to have melted faces,,,, ruined! What happened?
