I bought this in black thinking it would have better coverage than the competition. Wrong. It goes on like a stain and doesn't dry. Very unhappy with this product!
Paint absolutely did not cover, though we prepped carefully. Advertised to clean up with soap and water, but tried soap, then alcohol, then paint remover, then gasoline, all without success. A complete failure and disappointment!
We bought this brand of paint and to paint a few small tables. We sanded and prepped everything thouroughly. Immediately upon applying it we could tell it wasn't going on like it should - streaks, poor coverage, and pooling. It looked as if we were trying to paint over latex with an oil based paint. Wiped off as much as we could, sanded, and used Glidden paint with primer. Covered beautiful in one coat.
Paint seemed very thin. After two coats on plywood, dark grain underneath was still quite visible. It will take at least 3 coats to cover. I also had some of the MAXX green that covered a little better then this yellow, but still seemed to be lacking. I can not recommend this product.
Without a doubt the worst paint I have ever used. I was attempting to use this product to paint a metal bulkhead. All bare metal was primed prior to applying blue COVERMAXX. The results were terrible. After two coats, the coverage was very thin. I gave up. If I was to guess, it might take 10 coats to achieve adequate coverage. I will never buy this product again.
we use this paint on a good grade of plywood over two weeks ago, and it is still tacky. if you leave any thing on the painted surface it sticks to it. we carefully stirred the paint with wood stick before painting in mid 70 temperatures. would like to get a refund or be told what to put over the painted surface to eliminate the tackiness when touched, Not happy about this product!!!
Painted wooden kitchen stools 3 x's with no coverage. Decided to then use primer. After 2 coats on top of primer still no coverage. 5 total coats plus primer and still awful...JUNK! I gave 1 star because I did like the color when I opened it.
This paint does not cover at all. I used it to paint a wooden stake that I had written the word "RED" on as a note to make sure it was painted the right color. It was written lightly with a pencil. After SIX coats of paint the writing on it was still easily readable from over ten feet away. There were other discolorations in the wood that showed through just as much. It is by far the worse paint I have ever used in five decades of painting for trying to get it to cover what was under it. I will never buy any of the Krylon ColorMaster paints again. Don't waste you time and money.
This is terrible paint. It does not cover and does not level well. I spent a lot of time prepping the surface and thought painting would be the easy part and I would be done---now I have to start all over. I was using the plain old Krylon paint for years and don't understand why companies have to tinker with good products that work. Don't buy this product. Wish I could give it a star rating of zero stars and it doesn't deserve one star.
I used four coats and still didn't get enough coverage, finally ended up just throwing the paint away and sanding my chair down and started fresh with different brand of paint.
