[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this in hopes to refinish a guitar I've been working on and it really out did Ll expectations! It was very easy to apply and it really looks good. I'm very happy with the end results and will buy this next project I have to finish, be it a guitar or to seal a painting or whatever.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Krylon clear polyurethane coating is quick and easy to use for the projects I need it for. So far I have used it on some wooden coasters I made for my wife's birthday and I plan on using it on more small art projects.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the Clear Polyurethane Coating on a wood table I have outside. I sanded it down and then applied 2 coats of the spray. Since it is clear it is a little hard to see where it has been applied but I used even strokes all over. There is a slight sheen to it that can be seen at certain angles. I love that I could use this on wood so it is protected while still being able to see the original wood finish. The spray was easy to apply and it took 6 cans for 2 coats on the whole table.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Kylons Crystal Clear coating is a great product, used to paint two outdoor chairs that needed to be finished for weather protection, the results are great, The product is very easy to use, Great instructions, on the can for best coverage. No running in the paint, a nice steady paint comes out. It is very fast drying, It really brought out the grain and texture in the wood, Very pleased on how the project turned out after using the Krylon crystal clear. I have had no issues with yellowing, I have found a new clear coat for all of of my wood projects, fantastic results.
Product worked as advertised, dried to handle within 24 hrs, was still sticky after 4 hours. Went on clear and dried clear.
I bought this product to be the topcoat over a krylon white spray paint. After spraying the white, it was pure white...then I added the clear polyurethane and the item turned a yellowish color. I ended up spraying more white over the top and leaving it. On a wood-toned piece, you probably wouldn't notice, but over white it was quite obvious that it wasn't clear. I should have read the review here before buying. I would only recommend this if you are using it over a wood-toned piece, or maybe over a darker color piece.
I have just experienced the same problem. Spent countless hours on a project that I can't re-do, and once I got to the polyurethane, it turned it yellowish. I will never purchase this product again.
I used this product on a public art project I have worked a ton of hours on. I trusted when the manufacturer said it would not yellow, and that it was clear, so I used it over my bright white piece. It's now an amber color. The test pieces I made were not noticeably changed, but the main piece is ruined. Do not use this on anything light colored. I bought this at an art supply store.
Bought this spray paint to use as a top coat after I painted my dresser in an ivory color. I was not thrilled to see that the "clear" coat actually turned out to be a yellowish color!! Very disappointing & frustrating! The product is inaccurately marked as it says, "Will not yellow" when in fact it DOES yellow.
The other reviewers are right about this product. I came here looking to confirm it is, in fact, a "non yellowing" coat, but it's just not. It is supposed to be, but all the projects I spent hours on that are now in some of my customer's hands are turning dingy yellow in color and , frankly, it's embarrassing!! :( I sold some lovely white art pieces that turned an aged color in just a few weeks. Awful, awful stuff.
