I purchased 3 of these locks for my home and they have worked great. It is nice that I can check and see if the locks have been locked. If not they can be locked remotely with the app. I have one lock set to lock automatically 2 minutes after being unlocked. I do have an issue with the plastic battery covers. The tabs that hold the covers on have broken on 2 of the locks so I have them taped on. I would be happy to purchase replacements but I can't find replacements anywhere. There is a 65198 number molded in the plastic but I can't find any replacements. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Easy to install. App walks you through the installation. Very please, used at 2 homes.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Halo Touchscreen WiFi Smart Lock is a strong and sturdy deadbolt lock. I originally had the old fashioned ugly deadbolt lock which wasn't even properly aligned with the door. And part of it was only "attached" to the trimming of the door by someone unqualified to do it (not by me). The Halo lock is sleek and easy to use. I find it a plus amongst many of the techie gadgets I've set up in my house. It's easy to operate. I will be giving each person their own code to use to enter the house. Not to keep tabs on anyone. It makes sense as if anyone person is clumsy in entering their passcode wrongly 3 times, only they will be locked out. No sense on locking the whole family out..lol. But this is by far the neatest upgrade to my house. The color is silver, not loud to draw attention to it. It will take too much energy and effort to try and get in through this bolted lock. I will be getting one for the back of my house also. I recommend anyone to get this for their home.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this for my daughter's house to make it easier for the kids to get in and we don't have to worry about them losing the key. It was easy to install and the program was easy to download on the phone and use. She had no problems assigning codes for the lock. She gets alerts to her phone letting her know when and who has entered her house. It also let's her know when the lock has been manually locked/unlocked. Also, we were able to re-key this lock to work with her front door key since they are kwikset. This lock has other features we haven't tried out yet. She is having windows installed and is able to give a code to the installer so that they can enter and leave without her home. It will let her know when they arrive/leave and she can delete the code to never be used after that day. This Smart Lock is a very nice addition to her new house.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have never tried one of these Touchscreen Smart Locks, so I was pretty excited to get this one! First thought after opening the box is that it's a nice size and sharp looking! I couldn't wait to get it on our door. My husband and I spent some time looking over the instructions and getting it installed. It wasn't super difficult but took some time. But it looks great! The app was easy to find and download. I like that it walks you through everything. As someone who tends to loose their keys, I was pretty excited to have a key pad. We set up our code and it works perfectly! The only issue I have run into so far is the wifi side of things. I think that has to do with the speed of our wifi though. It tends to be slower when we are in certain rooms. But when my signal is strong it works perfectly! We have lots of doors in our home and I would absolutely replace all the locks with one of these! It's awesome and so nice if you have lots of people coming in and out. No need for extra keys... just give them the code! I would definitely recommend getting one (or multiples) of these awesome Smart Locks!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this lock, it took about 30 min to install and was SUPER EASY! You can use the standard key or the keypad to open/close. It gives you the option to open/close with your phone via the app and also gives you notification every time the lock is opened/closed. You can assign different codes to different family members and you also have a log when it is used. You can also restrict times that the lock can be accessed which is an added security benefit. I am just amazed at how much technology has come to help us in life. Not sure if you locked the door, open your app and check and then lock if needed. Need to let someone inside in event of emergency, open app and unlock. PERFECT!
I have had my Halo lock for over 2 years BUT the battery does not last beyond 2 months! I have tried everything Kwikset proposed - including changing my router but the fact of the matter remains that there is an internal problem with Kwikset's Halo product. There is absolutely no way anybody is going to get 5 or 6 months of battery life out of this lock. Plus there is very little traffic on this door and most of the time it is closed manually not even taxing the battery. Plus All of the battery consuming features have been turned off for maximizing battery life! It's a great product with tremendous functionality and appeal BUT this battery issue really needs to be addressed by Kwikset or it will eventually lose customers.
I HAVE HAD THIS LOCK ON MY HOME FOR THE PAST 1.5 YEARS AND IT IS BLEEDING MY BANK ACCOUNT DRY. I PUT THE HIGH DOLLAR ENERGIZER LITHIUM BATTERIES IN IT AND THEY ARE DEAD WITHIN 2 -3 WEEKS MAX. EVERYTHING WORKS FINE BUT BATTERIES GO DEAD CONSTANTLY. I HAVE SPENT HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS ON NEW BATTERIES. I AM GOING TO REPLACE THIS ASAP BUT HAVE NOT DECIDED WHICH BRAND OR STYLE TO GET. I LIKE KWIKSET FOR THE MOST PART BUT THIS LOCK HAS SERIOUS ISSUES THAT NEED RESOLVED.
Kwikset is stealing money from consumers. Next step should be a class action lawsuit. The amount money I have had to spend on batteries with no help and to tell me I need to add a Wifi extender so it is directly in front of the lock by support is hilarious. BTW the router is closer to the lock than the extender would be. I expect my money back as this lock does not work. Probably deserve hundreds of dollars in battery replacement costs as well. Don't trust this company there wifi electronic products do not work. This is the absolute worst wifi enabled product I have bought in my life. Such a joke. I like many have had the motor replaced and no different. The door seats correctly there is no jamming this product is just built poorly aka lemon law this Junk.
Después de un año de uso y tener que cambiar las baterías cada 45 días, me tardé en cambiarlas hasta que se apagó por completo, un día después le instalé unas nuevas y nunca volvió a encender. Contacte a soporte y después de muchas llamadas mandar emai, WhatsApp, videos, fotos me dijeron que la garantía en la electrónica había vencido y no me podían andar ninguna alternativa. Pésimo servicio de soporte, desde el principio me hubieran dicho eso.
