This is the most amazing tanner I've ever used. I decided that I didn't want to use tanning beds anymore because of the damage it does to your skin especially the face, neck and chest area. I tried this and was stunned at how well it worked. It gave me that deep dark bronze tan look and it wasn't sticky. It didn't have that horrible smell either. I see a lot of people complaining about the staining of the palms of their hands. Its a simple fix...wear gloves. Also for those that complain that it dries quickly. All I can say is GREAT! I can remember apply tanners before standing around FOREVER in front of a fan trying to get it to dry. Yay for drying quick. My schedule is busy and I don't have time to sit around and wait 15-20 minutes until if fully dries. And a lot of them made me feel sticky even after it semidried. This tanner got it right! Put it on and go! I would highly recommend to any one that's looking for that nice deep dark tan that makes you feel like the goddess you are! Not to mention the price was right! Less than $10
I was looking for a hassle free sunless tanner. I am fair skinned (natural to buff coloring). This is my first try at a mousse. I've used Tan towels (pretty great) and lotions, but this mousse promised instant results. I followed instructions with the addition of using a mitt to apply it. The result was a streak-free, golden tan with no orange undertones. My tip is to apply a bit of lotion to your elbows, toes, and wrist folds to avoid uneven spots. And best of all is that there is no self tanner "smell". This mousse smells like coconut (I love coconut). It has a green base and gives you an olive tone tan. I used it 3 days in a row to build it up. So worth the 10 bucks I spent!
Like the other reviewers state, make sure you use gloves or a mit! I too have tried just about every self-tanner out there, from very expensive brands at Sephora, to others also available at Walmart. By far, this is the best I've tried! This brand is particularly good for those of us who have olive skin with yellow undertones! Most self-tanners leave us with more of an orange color due to the yellow undertones, however this one does not! Because it uses black bronzers, it leaves us with a beautiful dark brown natural looking tan much like that we would get had we spent the day tanning outside. Do make sure you exfoliate prior to application and take care in the typical areas; feet, elbows, and knees, as these areas will be darker and splotchy. I recommend simply using what is left on your gloves/mit after applying to other areas rather than using a fresh pump from the can, doing this will give you the color you desire without the dark spots and "fake bake" look. I also moisturize 5 minutes after the product is applied and dries, it dries very fast! Mosturizing afterward also ensures that any streaks you may have made during the initial application are removed. I recommend using the same brand, LA Tan tan extending moisturizer, it too is great and extends the life of the self-tanner. Bottom line, this product is phenomenal and I highly recommend the LA Tan sunless mousse!
I'm a self tanner addict and can't sing enough praises about this product. Finally, a self tanner dark enough to give you a visible tan, several shades darker. Nice, big size, lovely price. It is a little difficult to apply, dries extremely fast (so don't make mistakes!) and don't get wet all day after application or you'll have streaks. Bar soap works the best to get all the staining off from your palms. The high DHA level is drying, but that's expected. I'm not sure if building up tolerance to DHA is a thing but it definitely lasts a week for me, not 2-3. I won't even bare my legs unless I have this on! I use slightly less strong banana boats dark self tanner to touch up. I will definitely purchase this product for life
I use this self tanner ALL of the time and it is by far my favorite. I have tried almost every product, from $75 Sephora brands to cheap drug store brands. Out of all of them this is always my go-to. I was skeptical at first because the bottle doesn't look as professional as others I have used. BUT LET ME JUST TELL YOU It leaves you with an amazing brown tan, with no orange whatsoever. It has green undertones which leaves your skin a pretty olive brown. Unlike most self tanning products, this one doesn't stink. It had a nice coconut smell to it. It is SO easy to apply too, but you MUST use a mitt or something to prevent your palms from turning dark brown. If you don't have a mitt, what I do is grab 2 fuzzy socks, sometimes 4 depending on how long I'm going to be applying and put them both on one hand and it works great, better than any mitt I've ever used. It dries almost instantly which is so great, you're not stuck naked in your room or bathroom for 30 mins waiting for it to dry. However, that does mean once you put it on, work fast to avoid uneven spots, but if one spot ends up darker than another, just apply a little more to the area and blend them together. If you put it on and worry about it looking too dark, don't stress, most of that deep brown color will wash off in the shower leaving you with a way more natural pretty color. I leave mine on overnight and rinse it off in the morning (the longer you leave it on, the darker you'll be), but I do wear a light long sleeve shirt and leggings so it doesn't transfer to my sheets. Apply everyday until you get your desired darkness (really only takes 2 or 3 applications) then twice a week to keep it. However, if you have eczema due to asthma, be very careful to apply it on your rash, it will make it burn and make it much more noticeable. I also recommend making sure it is properly moisturized before touching it to any very dry skin. But really, this stuff is the best out there. Really the only downside is having to sleep in pants & taking the time to apply it (but that's any self-tanner.) All-in-all 10/10 recommend!
It gave a great, even color. No streaking, no orange tones. It just looks like I spent my weekend at the beach. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked, especially for the price you really can't beat it. I will say I had to shower twice before I could get the fake tan smell off my skin, but that could just be because I let the color develop overnight, either way that's by no means a deal breaker for me. I've tried several different brands and this is by far the best I've used. There's a ton of product in there as well. I tanned from head to toe and I'd say I'll probably get another 5 or 6 uses out of the bottle. Overall, great value would definitely recommend.
This is one of those rare "bang for you buck" products......and I've tried them ALL! I wish self tanner was this good when I was growing up so I didn't abuse the sun and tanning beds. A tip: gloves for application or hand cleansing with a little warm water and bleach to remove the guide color from palms.
Doesn't streak. Easy to apply with color guide. Nice bronze tan and not orange. Only tanner I use now.
This unfortunately can streak if you don't rub it in quick enough and it can tend to fade splotchy. However, the color is AMAZING! It is by far the most natural-looking tan I have ever received from using a self-tanner. I would recommend getting the tan extender by LA Tan. I tried using this and found that it helped with even fading.
I had only used the gradual self-tanners before like Jergens, and then a spray tan from Loreal that was awful. This was my first time using an actual mousse self-tanner. Application was easy enough, especially since I had a mitt. It made spreading the product so much easier. The color guide is really dark so you can see what you're doing, so don't worry if you look splotchy, it will all wash off to reveal an even tan. I have never had good luck with my feet though, but this stuff actually did a pretty decent job at not making my feet look splotchy and disgusting. I usually put it on and sleep with it overnight, then shower it off in the morning. A lot of the color washes off, but you are still left with a nice tan. However, I should have stopped after one coat, because after the second application, I definitely looked like an oompa loompa. I went home and exfoliated and it helped tone down the orange, but I am still pretty orange. Especially my feet. I was hoping for a more natural looking tan. I don't know if I will use this tanner again. If you don't mind looking orange and tan, everything else is great.
