This swift is exactly what I needed and wanted to wind all of my skeins of yarn. For the cost, it is fantastic!
This was the first time I used a swifter....I have always just used a friends arms! The description does say it's plastic, and mine did come with instructions that I found very helpful. Once I figured it out, and found a good place to clamp on, the swifter worked well and swiftly. I just had to be careful that the yarn didn't catch on the connectors as I wound it. Stores compactly in a cute case.

Got this along with a ball winder. It works smoothly and It comes with a nice storage case. Its the best price I could find, no shipping charge with store pick-up. Nice.
Just purchased, the first time I used it, I set the swift up, balled a hank of yarn, and put the swift back in the case in 10 minutes. Really like the ability to set this up vertically, much easier. so far so good.......will repost if problems develop.
It is not a sturdy as a wooden one or one made of heavier plasic, but for the price it is great!
this item is as expected, It is a little on the flimsey side but was substansial enough for a hank of heavy wool. It comes in a cute case with no instructions but if you have ever used a swift, you can figure it out.
I always wanted a swift. Winding a ball goes a lot faster now

Clearly this is not wood as the description says, but for the price, it's a nice swift. It works quickly and smoothly and fits well into the storage box.
