I purchased the learning kitchen for my daughter's 1st bday which was on 02/20/08 and i must say 3 months later it is doing better than ever! during the first couple of weeks she played with the "toaster" the most because it was so easy to use, she would hold it down and dance to the music... than she found out that the "timer" on the "oven" would play music if she touched it and that became her other favorite thing. i swear it was like every day, week or even month she would find something new to play with! she has moved to putting the "skillet" (which even from day one she would lug around the entire house banging it on EVERYTHING) in and out of the "oven" (and anything else she can fit in there!) to putting it on and off the "stovetop".. we even put her cheerios in the skillet and she uses it as a snack station! she drops just about anything small in the "sink" and has even progressed to using it as her sippy cup holder! this month she has learned to open and close the "fridge door" which was a lil hard for her to open due to it "sticking" closed but now its a breeze since she uses more force. the blocks that go in there are an exellent add for she can put them in through the front OR inside of the "fridge"! the "light switch" is amazing... i hadnt realized that she would put two and two together and try flicking on a light switch until one day i was holding her and she saw a light switch and she turned it on! it truely is very cute to see her flick the "light" on, grab a cheerio to put in her mouth and she dances to the music! i love this toy... even though it is space consuming it is worth evey inch it takes up in the living room... with a lil bit of experimentation its actually quite easy to find a space for. it has yet to flip over.. even though my daughter likes to grab the top where the "light" is and rock back and forth. it does shake too and fro but it have NEVER tipped over! she uses the "sink" and "stove" to pull herself up when she feels the need and its very sturdy. the crawl space under the "light" is perfect and she loves to go from one side to the other (she follows our cats through it) and when the "light" and music go off she gets up and dances. now ive noticed ive mainly reviewed the kitchen part of this toy. and in all honestly that is the best part. though the living room side is used by my daughter its mainly when she is feeling REALLY bored and is investigated the toy more in detail. she will flip the books pages and move the arms of the clock. she will even put the shapes on the shelves and walk over to the other side and open the oven to take them out. one of our favorite things to do is play peek a boo through the oven door and living room sheleves. but again the living room portion of this toy i believe is meant more for interaction/ imaginative play so dont feel like you didnt get your moneys worth from it... i felt that way in the beginning until i started watching and playing WITH my daughter to encourage its many uses. i know this review is long but i wanted to give examples of how great of a toy it really is instead of saying yes my child uses it alot... its easy to assemble (it really was I put it together!).... and the noise level is just perfect! (believe me thats important when my daughter plays the music EVERYTIME she grabs a cheerio) we have enjoyed this toy so much we are looking into buying more fisher price learning toys.
My 11 month old received this for Christmas and has had a great time playing with it! She loves to open the oven and refrigerator door! Great baby toy!!
We got this for my little one for her birthday I think it is the best thing she got. Everything makes noise. It even welcomes you when you walk through the do. It also sing the ABC song and Says the 123's. She love it and the price it amazing for all that it does.
This little kitchen does more than I expected. My granddaughter loved it. It talks, sings, has a bunch of realistic sounds and is a great "learning toy"
I am completely happy with this toy. It has been redesigned to correct the tipping over issue mentioned in some earlier reviews so don't need to worry about that. My baby is only 8 months old and she loves it just to pull up on. She loves the sink and faucet and also the pan and spoon. I know she will continue to get lots of use out of it because she hasn't even begun to use the sorting or drain spout or even the toaster yet. Recently she became fascinated with crawling under and through things so now she loves to crawl through the archway, too. I also have a 1 year old grandson and a 4 year old that love to play with it and all 3 kids can play with it at the same time with no fights because there is so much to do and see.
My son ,who has a very short attention span, got this for his 1st birthday. He plays with it everyday and loves to drop the balls down the sink and watch them come back out. He also loves the light switch! Great gift for a girl or a boy and great for kids to share as well.
We gifted this to our daughter for her 1st birthday and she loves it. She loves to crawl in the doorway and even places her things on the pretend bookshelf in the living room and you can't keep her out of the fridge. The songs are great and her father and I even find ourselves singing along. Some noisemaking toys can get annoying after awhile, but we haven't found that with this one yet. She likes to do the dishes and put things in the oven. She loves it and we love to watch her play with it.
I bought this play kitchen for my 9 month old daughter for Christmas and she loves it. We got a big kid kitchen for our 2 1/2 month old daughter and thought it would be fun to have our other daughter to have a kitchen too. Our 2 1/2 year old loves both, I think that she plays with the learning kitchen just as much. It has been so much fun for both of them and they play together which is so great to watch.
I bought this for my 9 month since she is wanting to stand and needed something new that was more intertaining than her younger toys. She loves this kitchen from the sink to the fridge and all in between. She now likes to open the oven, put the pan on the door and close it, then open it to find her pan again. I also love the songs and different settings it has.
Overall I would say a great product, we got it for our 15 month old for Christmas and he loves it. It's one of the toys that can really hold his attention for more than 10 minutes. He loves to imitate his dad so he pretends to cook. I like all the learning features this toy offers, like on/off, open/close, numbers, abc etc. The only con is the price, in my opinion the manufacturer could have included some more features for this price. For instance, the radio on the back of the toaster has a dial that can be turned but it has no effect on the music whatsoever. But other than a bit pricy I think it's overall a good learning toy and I would recommend it to friends/family.
