Gave this to my niece, she loves it!!! Only complaint, wish it had a real battery like iPads and iPhones have instead of AA batteries cause they die too fast. But charging chord can be used when you're not on the go. Highly recommend though. She loves it!!
Games it comes with are cute and we bought one game and its very good - good learning with lots of different skills. Best for a child that can read a bit - but the ebooks don't require reading which are fun until they can read then the games would be good. Daughter is having fun making videos/movies and taking pictures too. Has a lot of things for them to do and screen is nice size and visuals are good. Daughter loves that hers is pink!
I bought the leap pad from another store, since walmart didn't have it in stock. Before I bought it I try the ds and the fun pad, but my daughter is just so used to leapfrog toys, that she wasn't happy till she got t.he leap pad. I sold the fun pad and the ds, and got the leap pad. My daughter is really happy, abd is being playing it since then. For those who think that your eight years old are too old for the leap pad, I will tell you that some games in there get really challenging. The games are fun, and they adjust to the child's age. My daughter is going to be eight in exactly one month today. I am not in a real rush to get her toys like the ds. I am a real fan of leapfrog toys, but the leap pad is by far the best of all leapfrog toys.
I love the concept of this product as in all in one activity tablet. I got this for my daughter so she would have an age appropriate tablet of her own. She seems to really enjoy it. I like the fact that you have the options to upload activities to it as well as get the ones that you can pop in. It also gives you an option to create three profiles if you want more than one child to share it or have the option for someone to sign in as a guest to play. The profiles track the progress and tokens earned through individual play. The only thing that I don't like about this product is how much money you can end up spending when it's all said and done because the extra programs cost from $5 to $25 dollars per download. Besides that, I like this for my daughter rather than have her play with my Kindle Fire or her dad's ipad. It takes the worry out of her playing with something she shouldn't or accessing the internet and coming across something inappropriate. Plus it's all educational and based and promotes creativity which is great in my book. I gave it only four stars because of the cost overall with all the apps potential purchased over time.
I love it so does my daughter. Since you mostly want to know the flaws here are my opinions: -the plastic used to make it seems too cheap -the games, apps, and etc. are going to cost you. -not for parents who know nothing about computers since the set up takes a while -cant upload your own videos, or photos. But its a good product maybe a few updates and Id change my rating. Deff BUY if your kid is obsessed with your phone, ipod, ipad!
I love this toy. It is perfect for my 4yr old daughter. The only negetive I have to say about it is that it runs on AA batteries. The AC Adapter is a must purchase. I wish this unit had a rechargable battery.
This was a gift for my 3 year old daughter and she loves it. She calls it her I-Pad. Has a decent camera for a child. Parents need to buy additional software because it only has a few basic apps preloaded on it, but overall she is very happy with it.
This leap pad is great and extremely educational for my four year old, but we literally had to change the batteries daily. We decided to buy rechargeable batteries and are having to charge them daily as well, which is also inconvenient. Also it's not like she is on it 24-7, maybe an hour or two total a day so it's surprising at how fast it dies. Having known this, I would have opted for something else.
I like the product. I purchased it for my granddaughter out of state. I was disappointed that the math and reading programs were not any of the installed programs. I would have purchased them had I known they were not any of the iinstalled programs.
It need more storge and it does eat batteries I will be getting an innotab b/c it work better for me even if I liked the benefits of leapfrog I think the innotab fit me better also I think because I have been program for leapfrog from a child I felt it was better to go with leapfrog
