This large outdoor heater arrived in a box the size of a small coffin. My son assembled it in roughly 3 hours and we put it under the pergola on my back deck. When lit, the flame rises up through a quartz glass tube and is deflected downward from the top while the tube emits radiant heat. It starts at the push of a button and will keep us toasty when the weather turns chilly. I love it!
I love this outdoor heater! It's such an update from the typical kind like I've had for the past ten years. Very modern looking. And it works perfectly. The instructions said it would take an hour to put together, but it took both of us about two hours. It helped to have a couple of wrenches in addition to the screwdriver. Had to buy the propane tank, which cost about $50, but half that to refill. This heater has two wheels so that you can move it, which is helpful since it's pretty heavy. I was surprised that there wasn't an accessory list included with the paperwork. I hope that there's a cover to buy for it so that maybe I can keep it covered when out of season. It's too tall to fit in my shed. (Had to use a stepladder to finish the top part). I'm really looking forward to using it this fall, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this heater to my friends. It's modern, looks great, and works perfectly. I did use it, though not for long in the 90 degree weather we're having, but I know that it works and looks great. Love it!
This thing is nice. It heats up very well. Uses a 20 lb propane bottle which we have several of anyways as that is what we primarily heat with. It looks nice lit up at night as well. We will probably end up using this as a shed heater this winter since it heats well. If your going to buy one of these make sure you have someone to help you move it as it is very heavy and you really need 2 people to put this together makes it easier. Also this thing is tall I stand slightly over 6 foot and it was hard for me to get the top put together and with it being heavy it doesnt seem like it will blow over easily if you have it outside as opposed to putting it up for storage during storms and high wind. I would recommend to someone that likes or has to be outdoors during the winter while it's cold it is definitely better than other outdoor propane heaters.
This patio heater boasts a heating capacity of 40,000 BTUs. it will definitely give you comfort outside your home on those cool evenings and nights ahead. This patio heater is made from hammered black steel and you can be sure it will withstand the test of time. The hammered black steel finish will certainly add a more modern and sleek look to your outdoor space. The stainless-steel burners of the heating grid provide the heat needed to keep you and your friends nice and toasty. You will be mesmerized by the lovely tall visual flames that this unit offers when lit. This amazing unit is packed with a lot of features including a tip protection system to ensure safety, an electronic ignition system for easy lighting, a safety auto shutoff tilt valve if it accidentally tips over. It is also fitted with wheels so you can easily move it anywhere you like. The hammered black steel pyramid propane gas patio heater can heat up an area of 120 square feet and uses a standard 20-pound LPG barbecue tank which you can purchase separately. The tank lasts up to 10 hours and you will also be pleased to know this unit is ETL approved. If you are looking to give your outdoor space a modern touch while ensuring Safety, then the hammered black steel pyramid propane gas patio heater is definitely the one you are looking for
If the instructions were well written the assembly could be a breeze. The estimated assembly time is 60 minutes. The writers of those instruction must have played spin the wheel or just guessed at the time (unless they timed someone that had done this assembly numerous times). Actual assembly time was around 2 hours. It could have been less if they had clarified some items in their instructions. The tools required are incorrectly listed as simply a phillips screwdriver and a leak detection solution. The first step is to attach the wheels to the base, for this you'll need a 10mm wrench and a 10mm socket/ratchet. After that you'll notice the axle bolts and wheels are loose and in need of be tightening. You'll need a 12mm wrench for this, tighten them snug then back off one quarter turn. Instructions should include this. Next step is attaching the stability ring to the base, you'll discover the holes are too big and you'll need to add some washers so the bolt heads don't pull through. I used 1/4" washers but the metric equivalent would have been better. In the next steps you have to remove all the pre-installed screws before assembly, they include a bag of extra screws in the kit so why not just leave them all out to begin with and put them all in the bag to save time? Next steps require you to assemble the lower and upper supports to the base and middle plates. This was not well written, they should have included the measurements of the upper and lower supports or provided some labels/guidance telling you which ones go where. As it turned out, the shorter set was for the bottom and the long ones for the top.The top screws should be left loose in step 3, plate orientation should have been clarified and screw placement was trial and error where another photo or drawing could have clarified this. In step 4 the tiny drawing doesn't provide you with any guidance at all so once again it's trial and error to assemble the upper supports and damper. Overall the I found the packaging was excellent, the package was a little beat up but the contents were well protected and no damage was noted. Once the unit is complete it's actually quite impressive and looks like a fairly good quality item. The seller would be advised to show one assembled so a potential buyer could see what the end result of his efforts would be. I have not yet fired up the unit so can't comment about its performance. It has been and looks to continue to be a series of 90º days and very warm nights so the timing to have this product reviewed was perhaps not the best.
I would give 4.5 stars if that was an option. Although we like this heater very much (we purchased two) weve only been using them for a week or so and not every night. The first demerit is I just saw it on line at Target for $200, we paid $250. The second would be the assembly- a nightmare! Directions are pathetic and nothing is labeled. Youll definitely need 2 if not 3 people to get through it. The second one, assembled a week later, took us half the time as we remembered our issues from the first one. There is no how-to video and there absolutely should be. The only one is some college kid assembling it in 3 minutes by herself on the the quad lawn LOL The third demerit would be the low BTUs but we knew that going in. I already wish I bought the one with more. I plan to revisit this review after the patio season ends to add or subtract a star. They look great though.
