So much fun to build and display. I have a whole Harry Potter room and it made a great addition. I added this into the chamber of secrets set
I ordered this Lego set from my grandson and he put it together in no time. All the pieces were there, they fit together perfectly, and he loves it. It looks terrific sitting on his shelf with his Harry Potter books.
My 12 year old son wanted to complete the Harry Potter castle. This was a Christmas gift and he was thrilled to have another component of the castle.
I bought this product is purely for Fluffy. It's really detailed and cute. However, I do found a typo in the instruction when I built this set.
Really fun and fast build. Love the mini-figs, especially the 20th-anniversary gold Hermione and Fluffy is downright adorable! It will display nicely with the other sets once I figure out the right configuration to add it all together. I'd add a photo but for some reason, it won't allow me to upload one.
Fluffy is tricky to get into the completed set, but to me, he has to be that big to be authentic.
The lego box was damaged (it was packaged inside a larger box so the damaged would have happened before packing) and partially opened. The contents were all there but this is a gift and I would have liked it to look new and not opened.
It pains me to be critical of a HP Lego set but the designers really didn't think this one through. (I have dozens of HP Lego sets.) Having a trap door is excellent but you can't put the devil's snare chamber underneath it because there's nothing else to support the structure. I assembled a room using my own bricks and it works now. Fluffy doesn't fit in the trap door room. The instructions were difficult to discern because they had a lot of dark brown pieces that I couldn't distinguish in the illustrations. The harp is a clever idea that doesn't come together. I'm glad to see that people generally like this. I just think it was a swing and a miss.
Should have read the reviews before buying this--mea culpa. It was an okay build; my chief complaint is that Lego creates big one-off custom pieces for the set that will be challenging if not impossible to repurpose -- and isn't that some of the fun? It doesn't seem very creative to build a conical tower for example by attaching 3 or 4 tapering conical pieces. I've seen and admired stunning rockwork by some talented builders, but this set uses a big chunky dark grey piece. I do give this set, like the other Potter sets, high marks for a pleasing and attractive colorway. But that's about it.
I mean come on. This is extremely dissapointing. The figures don't even fit in this build. For my money I wish I could take it back to the store and ask why it couldn't be big enough to play with. And now they won't let me upload a photo to show that "Fluffy" doesn't even fit in the build the room isn't even big enough for him much less to have an afternoon of play.
