9 year old son got this for x-mas. He put it together by himself in 3 hours and it works great. What a sense of pride he has in building this and it works perfectly.

Easy to build and Lego mini-figures can go to the fair.

This was our first k'nex item. I bought the ferris wheel for my 14 year old and the k'nex robot for my 11 year old. Both have been fabulous building toys. My 14 year old is ready for a more challenging set (this one was for 7 on up), and we'll definitely be looking into those! Went together well, works great with the batteries, great 'thinkiing' toy.

I felt the instructions were cryptic. There are NO words. You have to follow the pictures and some of them are sketchy at best. My 8 yo was able to figure them out, but left to my own devices, I couldn't have. There are EXACTLY enough pieces. So, because we broke one of the pieces as we made it, we weren't able to complete it until we went and bought another product. Overall, pretty good value for the money and a good way to teach multiplication (How many of these do you need for 16 spokes?) But buy some additional knex "just in case" if your kids are younger.
