This was recommended to be by the customer service rep that I spoke with. I had read reviews online of issues with connecting the Lenovo Yoga C940 to an external monitor. I knew I needed a hub/dock that would be a true Thunderbolt 3 dock. I figured it was better to be safe than sorry and to go with a product from Lenovo. When I run a lot of applications that are draw a lot from my GPU, I occasionally get some screen distortion on my C940. I've found that if I disconnect the dock from my laptop and plug it back in, the issue is resolved. I think having an external monitor and running Zoom plus other applications can really push the laptop's abilities, but I have been generally happy so far. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The instructions are not at all clear. There are two sets of HDMI and Display Ports., but it seems that you cannot use both Display Ports or both HDMI ports, you have to use one of each (but not in the same bank).
I only just received the laptop to connect to this dock. But so far I love, love it! It makes it so convenient to plug everything into it and when I take my laptop on the go, I just have to remove one cable. I love that it will start my laptop up and I don't actually have to open the lid to press the power button or hunt around on the side to find the button. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's a behemoth of a dock brick, but if you have an X1 Extreme and need to run a lot of hardware, this is the dock you want. A standard USB-C dock won't provide enough power, after trying to run on one for a month I switched to the Thunderbolt 3 Dock, and it's been running fantastically.

It has has plenty of ports, and I leave an external HD plugged into it for my continual backup monitoring. Its great to leave my laptop closed and be able to turn it on and off with the dock button. The installation did require downloading and updating the firmware which takes a bit of time to process.
I've connected 3 1080p monitors with the T480 laptop closed and this docking station works great. Ensure you plug it into the Thunderbolt 3 port instead of the power port! I'm not an advanced user, and I still haven't figured out why USBs ports mean different things (some won't work for my wireless keyboard/mouse) but I eventually got everything working after a guess and check. Depending on your laptop purchase, this may not be powerful enough. Check carefully. I was able to make it work after I also plugged in the power cord that came with the laptop, but it was a frustrating day of troubleshooting why monitors kept cutting out. Truly plug and play no setup needed. Great to connect ThinkPad Carbon X1 6th gen to a large screen display and charge other accessories at the same time without having to disconnect/reconnect. small footprint and all the features needed to complete your workstation I am especially happy with twin HDMI ports and twin display ports. Can have up to 4 monitors running off this on box. Currently running 2-24 inch monitors. I have all but the 2 display ports in use on this dock. Reason for 4 stars is every once in a while, when I re-dock I get a message saying the dock cannot supply enough power to power the laptop. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The unit allowed me to connect two external screens as well as a keyboard and mouse to my Workstation. Works flawlessly, however the included instructions were not clear and I had to research a little on the net to find clearer instructions.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The connectors belonging to the power and the USB type C cables are coupled together using a magnetic slot. You must use both with workstation laptops. So, it is cumbersome to simultaneously insert both square shaped connectors to my P52 with a magnetic coupling in between them. It's just easier to separate the magnetic coupling and insert the USB type C to another port not adjacent to the power port. Also, there is only one USB port on the dock itself with lightning bolt symbol for stand-by power to charge devices when the computer is OFF. So you cannot charge more than one device without a computer.
