I recently bought ThinkPad X 10th gen with i7 processor, windows 10pro, 16 GB memory, 1TB hard drive, display with privacy guard and other necessary great options for $1499. Isn't it a good deal? Some of you might say. It is questionable, but be realistic. Try to find any technically comparable laptop and it will have higher price. Laptop is light, fast, very responsive and accommodates all my needs. I downloaded all programs I need with an ease. Connecting it to Wi Fi was as easy as downloading programs and connecting to network in my office. Display privacy guard works well when it is on. If someone sit next to you that person can barely see and guess what is on your screen. It works just perfect for me if I have to work on the go. Lit keyboard is adjustable to your liking as well as the screen to work at night. So it doesn't produce blue light which keeps yout brain awake or you can dp the opposite to keep you awake. Battery lasts for more the ten hours. At least for me. I didn't timed it exactly through. Keyboard and mousepad are responsive. Over all this particular machine works wonderfully for me and Lenovo well known company. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
My X1 thinkpad has been my recent new favourite. It's easy to use. Has good face recognition, soft keyboard, good touchscreen. 14" is not too small and not too large. Its around 2.5 lb and so easy to carry than my previous Macbook Pro. Talking about other features of my thinkpad I am totally satisfied. It was worth spending my money on it [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
This laptop is amazing. I got the 14" FHD Display, i7 8565U processor, 16GB RAM, 256 GB SSD model. You cannot get this much power and portability anywhere else, let alone for less than $2,000. This thing is incredibly light weight (lighter than my old Surface Pro 4) and so thin with slim bezels. The 14" display is a perfect middle ground to work and play from. While the camera quality is quite low, the built in privacy shutter and the variety of ports it offers you makes up for this shortcoming. Oh, and don't forget the incredible speakers on this thing. Only time you'll need those at 100% volume is if you're having a party, literally; I only keep mine at 80% or lower. The keyboard is a dream to type on; no flex in the keyboard, very well made, great key travel and comfortable touchpad. The combination of ports, keyboard, size and weight put this laptop in a class of its own. It doesn't compete with anything or anybody else! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
This laptop is aesthetically pleasing and it preforms very well under CPU stressful conditions. I use this laptop for school and deal with massive data sets for machine learning. While the data of my peers takes multiple minutes to preform a task, my X1 Carbon Gen 7 was able to preform the same task in seconds. Highly recommended for any user. I needed an upgrade on my old Lenovo Yoga laptop and decided to give the X1 Carbon 7th Gen a try. I have to admit, I saw a ton of reviews on this laptop and couldn't think it was as good as they said. I decided to try it out and to my surprise it delivered. The X1 is fast, and it is by far the best non Mac laptop I have ever owned. Honestly it might be better than my Mac. Its fast, the screen is bright, the sound is awesome, and I love the keyboard. Now I did had to concede some features to get the price down like no 4K or the biggest one for me no touch screen (that one hurt). Saving on the price I was able to get the 10th Gen I7 and its worth dropping the touch screen. I have been using it for about a month and tried doing a stress test and passed with flying colors. For the most part the X1 is really quiet but at times the fan does come on and its noticeable but its on for a few minutes. I would highly recommend this Laptop. Insanely overlooked and underappreciated laptop. Best keyboard for an Ultrabook, great port selection, fast processor with quiet fan speeds and a more vibrant screen than most other T series thinkpads (upgraded from a T430) make this one of my best purchases ever. Macbooks and XPS need to make way for this beast! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
It is just what I needed, slim, light with the specification that I need for application development. I love the feature where it does not charge when plugged-in when the battery charge is between 90%-100% it extends the battery life. (this is you used the laptop unplugged and used up the battery charge and plugged it in with the battery charge is still above 90% -- or depending on how you set it). Well if you want to charge it at 100%, you will just have to use it until it goes below 90%, that the downside -- I haven't fully explored it yet, not sure if there is a quick switch to turn on/off this feature. Good parts: They typing experience is totally awesome and performances are stunning. The 7-10710U proc really does the job here, and will nicely perform computing spikes easily. The whole device feels solid, flexible, light, and is definitely classy. Connectivity really is there (I just have 1 dongle with me for eth + usb extensions, and don't even need to use it for most of the time). The screen (FHD with privacy filter) is neat enough. Mic is average/OK, the webcam too : but they could have do better. Now deceiving parts : Battery. Lenovo tells: "Up to 18.3-hour of battery life." I really bought it to have autonomy. IMHO: it's a false info here, I don't get how they would obtain such numbers, expect maybe in a cold testing lab, with an idle machine with all connectivity off, brightness 0, and some robot typing 1 key/minute just to tell it's being used ? For now I've being using it on a dual boot encrypted partitions Windows/Archlinux, mostly on arch from now (maybe windows would do better, or another kernel header ?). AFAICT I get a certain 5-to-10 hours on a lightweight usage (web browsing, writing & dev stuff). I was indeed expecting better from Lenovo on this ! The sound system: may be better than previous 6th gen version, but really is ugly. The 3.5 jack is fine anyway. It's absolutely not a gamer rig, but it makes Dota 2 turns really nicely (in low specs), and will for sure be my long last professional dev machine for the next years, I hope :) [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
The laptop failed in less than a month with a message "2100: Detection Error on Storage Device (M.2)." My father-in-law has now been without a laptop he needs for his business for over a week. Having to wait for depot service to evaluate and then repair a laptop that is less than a month old is ridiculous. This seems to be a common issue with the X1s and a few other series (Goggle the error message, lots of others with same issue).
I have purchased (two) x1's. The first one had a broken screen.Returned for a refund. The second one had an 2203 system config is invalid error. Apparently this is an known issue, even mentioned in the manual. The solution? Send it off to be serviced. No thanks.
