I've been using it for years and like it over other body soap, price is good too. But they changed the packaging from individually boxed to individual plastic wrap which is easy to break. Kind of like the paper box pack more over the plastic one. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Used to love Lever2000. So when I saw a new product I thought I would try it. 1 bar out of an 8-pack later, and it's official, Aloe and Cucumber is horrible. It doesn't lather well, and I don't like the feel of it on my skin. The smell isn't that great either. They probably switched the formulation to cheaper ingredients to keep their profits up. I'm switching back to Irish Spring or Safeguard.
Lever 2000 Aloe & Cucumber bar soap change in November 2023 did not work out for me or my family. The new soap has too strong of a scent for our liking. More importantly - for some of us, it caused itching immediately after showering. We have used the older product daily for a decade+ and it was a wonderful bar soap. Too bad this was re-formulated. We will need to find a different product as this change won't work for our family.
Have used the product for years, after Lever discontinued the "blue bar" (which remains the standard for people who had allergic skin to use an effective soap). It had worked OK, although it had started getting annoying difficult to find, with fewer and fewer stores stocking it. Now I just purchased some, and apparently they have re-formulated it. In the re-formulation, they have successfully: *Made the bars significantly smaller, something that already had been done to them once or twice before; *Made a previously easy-to-lather soap almost impossible to lather up now, even in soft water - NO idea why; and worst of all, *Returned the soap to one that my wife is allergic to. Now she can't use it at all. WHAT IS WITH THESE RE-FORMULATIONS, where nothing is re-formulated for the better??? I guess we have to go in search of a new and usable soap - again.
The new formula with the Aloe and Cucumber does not work well. My skin is much drier now. My skin is flaking now and getting it to lather is hard. I started using the soap when a friend told me about it and that was awhile ago when that formula first came out. I though it was my skin but when I used the old formula one it felt better and I could see the results were better. Go back to the old formula so I can get back softer moister looking skin and better lathering.
Like so many of the other one star reviewers, I'm angry that you changed the soap I have been loyally buying for 20 years. I liked your soap because it didn't have the strong smell that others do and now I don't care for its new smell. Maybe like Coke and Tide you'll realize you made a mistake and switch back.
I've been a long time user (20 years) of Lever 2000 Aloe and cucumber and have been extremely satisfied with this product just the way it was. Recently I noticed a change in the packaging and shape and texture of the soap bar. this so called new look is not all its cracked up to be. the soap doesn't lather on my wash clothe as it used to. The scent is not the same and the shape and texture of the new look is not the same. I get the new look but did you change the product ingredients also, it seems like it. The first time I used it i was upset with the results of my shower because the soap didn't lather up like the last bar of the old package that i had, so I showered again. The next time I got a new wash clothe and it still didn't lather like was used to.
My wife and I are/ were a long time user of the cucumber soap before you all messed it up. Sadly, now I have to find another soap. Will not be purchasing this any longer until it goes back to the way it was. So please bring it back. And it seems like I'm not the only one that feels this way.
If it ain't broke don't fix it. Ever heard of New Coke. The new bar shape is hard to hold onto once it's wet. It leaves a greasy film that takes longer to rinse off and the old soap smelled good the new stuff smells like perm solution. I've been using this product for many years not anymore. It was good soap not now.
This is a terrible change. I actually thought I bought the wrong soap brand. Smells different, feels different, bar is smaller, and it feels like it has lotion in it. I've been using the cucumber bar soap for literally 20 years…. And now I guess I have to turn to a new brand. So disappointing.
