It was time to update my LG washer and dryer after over 15 years of faithful service. They both worked fine but I was anxious to replace them before I had a problem. With regard to the model WM4000HBA washer, it's amazing what technology advances have taken place in 15 years! The washer/dryer is WiFi enabled so that I can check the cycle progress on my phone and receive Alexa alerts once the cycle is finished. The dryer is paired to the washer so for example when the wash cycle for Towels is complete, the dryer automatically pre-selects the dry cycle for Towels. There are more cycles to choose from than my previous washer and each is much more unique with this model. The cycles are generally shorter, using less water and power with the Turbo Wash functionality. This model also features steam functions. It runs whisper quiet, smooth, and is solid as a rock. This machine is very quiet even on spin cycle. The unit looks great in black steel but a minor complaint is that the door glass is tinted making it difficult to see the wash cycle. The LED panel is also bit hard to see so I need reading glasses and a flashlight if I want to choose any of the many available wash/dry options, but it doesn't diminish my satisfaction with LG.

I love the fact that because it's Wi-fi connected I get a notification on my smart watch to let me know when a cycle has finished. Living on a ranch I might be anywhere but not in the house. And I have so many cycles to choose from. My clothes have never looked so good. Especially happy about the extra large tub as I can wash my King sized comforter and I can also wash my weighted blanket in it. I couldn't do that in my old washer. It's a wonderful product and I recommend it to friends all the time.
I bought this set for my home in Florida. I love the efficiency of it and also the look of it. Very sleek with great capacity. Lots of options which is great because not all loads are the same.

Efficient spin cycle allows faster drying. I love that they door stays ajar to allow the machine to dry out. And, the app is fun :) Oh, wait, the last cycle is done. Gotta go!
WooHooooo! I enjoy both my new washing machine and dryer. My old dryer was a dinosaur and sky-rocked my energy usage, but this new dryer is totally energy efficient!!!

The only thing I would got it on would be the lack of a drum light. My last washer had a drum light and it made it easier to find that one sock or washcloth that was stuck to the inside. Other than the washer, the app that goes with the Wi-Fi connectivity is a bit of a hassle to use. I tried to connect my wife's app to mine and it just didn't work and you can do it manually with your account number but I can't find that anywhere. I hope they fix the app .

After the initial 2 weeks post delivery of my new LG washer and dryer, I am happy to say that I made a superior purchase decision. I recommend this LG washer and dryer set. The details below. The Pros: - Many choices for cycles, spin speed, temp, soil level, etc. - Capacity is large, but the units handle small loads well, also. - Runs whisper quiet, smooth, and solid as a rock (zero vibrations, though I haven't done a very large load yet). - Clothes came out clean and properly spun out (very little moisture retained). - The load complete notification chime sounds like an ice cream truck. Silly? Yes, but I love hearing it! Haha. The Cons: - So many choices; maybe too many choices! And if you want to deviate from the preset defaults, you can, but it's lots of tapping each individual setting on the LED screen. Time consuming! I wish there was a memory function where I could program my "normal" cycle settings and then recall it with 1-button press. - The LED screen is very small font and not overly lit. If you're older or sight impaired, be advised. I need my reading glasses and a flashlight to choose my combinations of the many options. Someday, I'll have it memorized, hopefully. - The units are big... measure your space accurately for fit (I did so all good). Be aware that if you're shorter (I'm 5'1"), reaching over the units is a stretch! All of that said, I give these units a thumbs up and would buy them again. The only outstanding question is maintenance and durability. LG has a good track record so I hope my units perform well for years to come.
I have had this washer for 3 weeks now and it works really good. There are lots of settings and it was easy to connect to to the app. I'm still learning all the functions and options that come with the app. I'm sure I'll like it even more once I really learn what all it can do.
I've had the machine a couple weeks and love it so far. Easy to use. My only complaint is that there must be sensors in it, to tell the machine if clothes are dry or not. That would be great for energy saving, but when trying to dry a thick blanket, it was frustrating. I had to start the drying process at least 5 times, and the machine would stop after 5 minutes. It could be user error, however.
