[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So to preface this I will say that I was wholeheartedly against soundbars. Unfortunately due to our new living arrangements we were unable to run wiring and get a full 5.1 setup. This soundbar however has forever changed the way I think about soundbars forever. Hooked this up an optical cable to our new LG 8k TV and it was a perfect combination. The width of the TV matched up perfectly with this. The center speaker allows for crystal clear vocal and dialogue, while the rear channels, even though they are in the front, are very immersive. Despite all these great features, my favorite is by far the wireless subwoofer. We've always been tied down to keeping the subwoofer by the audio receiver, but with this wireless sub, we were able to actually properly place it to get the best bass output. Proper placement of a sub changes the whole experience. Overall this is an amazing setup. Especially if you're limited on space. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have this installed with an LG OLED65G1PUA TV and the LG SPK8-S rear speakers in my one bedroom apartment. Plenty of sound for my space. I like the app for controlling settings. I mostly run E-ARC and use Cinema for TV and alternate between AI Sound Pro and Music with Meridian for music. I also have a Google Home and when I first set it up I could say, "Hay Google, play KNKX in the Family Room" and it would start right up using the wifi input but that stopped working. So now I cast from my laptop or desktop.

The dialogue is very clear and action scenes fill the room with sound. Plus the added thump of the wireless subwoofer makes movie night very enjoyable. The upfiring speakers work decent (about as good as you could expect). For our size room, we will be looking to add the rear speaker kit to balance things a bit more. The sound is great while watching any genre, and the different preset sound effects make it easy to get the most out of what I'm watching. The sound settings can be customized further through the LG app which is nice and pretty simple to use. The soundbar streams music very well too, it produces a rich sound that fills the room. I've been streaming music through WiFi mostly, but AirPlay and Bluetooth worked well too. Setup was easy and it integrates well with my LG CX television. The only difficulty I had was getting the speaker to connect to my WiFi. It took a few attempts to finally get it connected using the LG app on my phone. There isn't really a simulated surround sound, which wasn't expected with no satellite speakers. I'll probably add the SPK8 rear speakers to make it a true surround system. It has plenty of features for the price point and the sound is top notch, especially for streaming music and watching movies. And very much an upgrade over the TV speakers for everyday TV watching. Setup was pretty straightforward and by using the LG Sound app there's access to more features and sound equalizer. The Dolby Atmos and upfiring speakers make watching movies more immersive since I don't have the compatible surround speakers (yet!). The soundbar is sleek too with the metal grate around the speakers and no cheap plastic. Overall great package in this soundbar and wireless subwoofer and would recommend to others searching for a high quality soundbar at a reasonable price. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the incredible opportunity to try LGs SPY9A soundbar through The Insiders, and it did not disappoint. Firstly the sound bar is rather large. Being that it is a five channel bar it has speakers all around so it makes sense. It is both long and wide but that wasn't a problem for me because I mounted it to the wall. The sound bar came with mounting brackets and a mounting guide to install it perfectly aligned under your TV for optimal sound. It was an easy process but you have to buy the screws to mount it which can be difficult if you do not know the right sized screws to buy. I was able to fit the sub woofer on my TV stand. Through ai room calibration the system feels out the space in a room to fill it with sound so it is important not to block the sound bar or sub woofer. My living room has 12ft ceilings and filling the room with quality sound was not a problem. The bar has 8 different preset sound functions to choose from depending on what type of sound you are looking for. For example it has cinematic or clear voice for movies, sports, music, or AI that chooses which sound will be best for you. Whether it be at max volume or low the sound quality is clear and doesn't distort. I have it hooked up to an LG TV and it has definitely enhanced my viewing experiences. It has Bluetooth technology so it is easy to connect other devices to the sound bar wirelessly as well. Overall I would definitely recommend it. My only reason for not rating it 5 stars is that for the price I feel it should have come with the screws to mount it.

It seems that the only rear speaker kit for my soundbar has been discontinued! I tried the only available latest rear speaker kit and it would not pair with the soundbar. Why did LG do that to their customers?
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Do not buy this if you want to watch anything on a screen near it. It has a bright off center display that is constantly on and very distracting. You cannot turn it off while it is playing sound. I don't know why they made this design on something made to compliment tvs.
Have had this soundbar and the sp8ya for two months with no issues. Works great, sound is awesome on both, but they no longer connect to wifi. Just stopped. I've walked through all steps to reset and reconnect a half-dozen times, still nothing. The app support is abysmal, didn't realize LG dropped ALL mobile products when they stopped making phones. I've done everything; reinstalled the app, reset my wifi ssid/password, reset all routers and modems, reset both bars--hard resets--sill no connection. Not having wifi won't stop the bars from working, just from properly working, as the stock settings you can access from the remote are junk. ALL settings/callibration are controlled through the app, so no connection means your stuck with stock crap, making the bar WAY WAY WAY overpriced garbage. The product is as good as the app, which is to say outs garbage. If your forcing the use of an app to access settings, make sure the thing works!
