My wife and I got 2 of these phones for Xmas and they have been very reliable so far. I am very impressed with the looks of the phone and the flawless operation. I also have the camera attachment and the extra battery and charger included with the phone. I also wanted the option of a replaceable battery in my phone and LG offers that. I will look at LG again when we decide to replace these phones in the future. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
The LG G5 watched the prices come down after the G6 was released and happy i got the G5 at a good price. Pluses: very quick, nice screen, touch is very responsive, wifi has been good, voice and call quality good. The two cameras are great for vacation photos. I had moto x and this way better. I really like that can have a spare battery and swap and reboot quickly get another 12 hours. The oc3 support great 20 minutes 85%. The phone ships with oc2 charger that takes about 30 minutes get 85%. A minor disappointment. Wish all phones had user replaceable battery. Don't understand why they like sealing the battery. Well i do know they do it to encourage you to toss the phone after two years for newer model. The L5 was prompting me do the Nugget update but after too many updates i think I'll stay with Marshmallow. Only minus still cannot easily read sunlight. I bought this around a month ago, after searching for a phone with good gaming performance and a good camera. I found the LG G5 to be an excellent replacement for my Windows phone. I have had no problems with this phone, and am glad I bought it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I have had this phone for over a year and so far its been great. * Fast, great performance that feels similar to latest phones in all the things I do. * Good battery life; nearly always makes it through the day. If needed, carry a spare battery (inexpensive on eBay); you can swap one in seconds. It also has Quick Charge 3.0 so recharging is very fast. * Has the desired features - beautiful high resolution screen, very fast fingerprint sensor, NFC (enables you to tap & pay) IR Blaster (control TV and other devices) micro-SD card expansion and USB C connector. * Excellent cameras; the wide angle is something I don't think I could do without now. * A 'Just Right' size. Very strong metal case. * Very easy to repair! My GPS stopped working and needed a repair. Amazingly, this phone is simple to open and fix with just normal tools and little skill. Everything is modular, parts are inexpensive with lots of YouTube videos to guide you. About all that is missing is wireless charging and waterproofing, but none of the phones with those have the IR blaster or removable battery. Current prices, especially for used ones, make this probably the best value of any phone. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
So, after one week with the LG G5....I must say...as a big fan of LG phones who's living in Jamaica....I think the G5 is a wonderful device....I've had two of LG's Optimus G Pro and also the G2....Well, they all suffered screen damages....But I must say they were also good devices....I haven't exhausted the G5 has yet....There's room for improvement, I love the form factor, The camera is super cool, the display also....the battery could have been a bit better...Love the fast charging feature to it...the speaker on this thing is a beast, I'm totally loving it...Anyways, overall I think the LG G5 is a great device....and certainly I would recommend it..... Overall good performance. Camera is really nice. Battery is poor compared to the Motorola counterparts in the same price range. The design is good too. I have had a few issues of wifi dropping, it might be an issue with LG phones. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Owned this phone for a month now and love it thoroughly ..... Except for the fact that at time of purchase I was unaware the RS988 model hasn't yet been included in the already international Android 7.0 Nougat update that every other G5 has already recieved. Without 7.0 Nougat support in 2017 , this phone will quickly be replaced or overlooked by new buyers as I solely bought this phone in the hopes it would be updated to 7.0 allowing me to utilize all the great features like Doze. (especially doze due to the way 6.0 Marshmallow drains the battery for power users) [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
My phone started restarting all of a sudden. Even after factory reset I have been facing this issue. When I checked on many forum I came to know that many people are facing this issue and no one has yet posted any solution to it. I have sent it for repair. I hope it will work after repair and the problem will not come back in future. The battery is removable along with lower portion of the phone. In some phones, lower portion doesnt fit in line with entire phone so it feels weird to hands. I had to exchange my device 2-3 time to get proper phone.
Bought the unlocked phone thinking it would be free of bloatware and would be the first to receive the firmware/security/software updates. Man was I wrong. This phone has not got the security updates since July 2016. All the Carrier phones in North America and all the unlocked models in Asia, Europe and South America have received the latest OS update (Android N). But this phone has been completely ignored so far. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I bought this phone just 2 months ago. It is fast and stuff, but it had a white spot on the right corner when i first unboxed it and turn it on... Now i learned that rs988 won't get nougat and android 8.0 update. Which is a shame. I just bought it because it was international and covered with us lg warranty... I'm unhappy. My last tango with lg... [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
