Great size - big enough display and easy to hold. I'm not sold on the mega phone size. The 4" IPS display fits perfect in my pocket. The only drawback would be the camera resolution could be sharper and the battery life. I know the standard for Android phones should be one full day but why not make them worry-free two days. Other than the great price, the phone never resets, freezes on powers down - which is the biggest reason I bought this phone.
The Lucid by LG is rapidly becoming my best friend for telephone calls, texting, surfing the web and just keeping me in control of my life and my time. There are so many features in the phone, it has taken me over a year to learn to use it to its fullest. The phone did everything I needed it to do right from the start, but as I learn more and more about it, the phone is simply amazing.
This is my first smart phone and my third LG phone. Easy to set up and understand. Some preinstalled apps force use of 3G data rather than wifi though. Overall a pain free experience for a smartphone n00b! Wife wants an iPhone, but after playing with mine I think she is sold on sticking with LG. My last LG went swimming with me for 5 minutes. Dried it in rice and a couple days later it fired up when plugged into a charger! Hows that for LG quality? I knew I better upgrade though. Can't comment on performance yet, only had it 3 days and not loaded with a lot of apps.
all and all after owning this phone for about a week im quite happy with this phone. and with a battery saving app the battery life isnt as bad as i was expecting tho still not great. the daily need to recharge so far has been my only complaint. i did have one lock up but after installing 50+ apps in a day not surprising no hang ups since tho. as i was writing this i thought about the camera and tho not a complaint i defiantly wish they had added some more or any at all stutter stabilization, i shake and when taking pictures it makes for a lot of "opps its blurry lets try that again" also poorer WiFi reception then i was expecting range wise speed wise if your on 4g or a fast wifi connection you cruise. now idk if i would recomend this phone for a first timer, being a techie i was surprised how long it took me to find some of the functions and settings i wanted but if your patients this is a unbelievable phone for the price so short recap mediocre battery life slightly above average camera good call quality slightly below average WiFi antennae fast OS response great graphics
This phone is great, if you don't need to rely on a battery. However, I need a reliable phone and the battery doesn't hold 100% for more than 6-8 hours. I've tried every optimization app available, nothing works. Forget battery life if you're using the phone, it drains just by looking at it. I'm sorry LG, solve this for me and I'll keep buying your products (my kitchen is full of your things).
This is one of the worst phones i have ever had in my entire life. I literally have had to get a new one through insurance because the first one i had wasn't working at all, got my new one and its almost worse. I dropped it like twice and on both of the phones the microphone doesn't work, so in order to talk on the phone it has to be on speaker phone, real personal.. i have way too much time left with this phone, im literally counting the days until this thing is gone. I will probably never get another lg phone, which is unfortunate bc they are actually decent, but this left was too terrible of a taste in my mouth. One thing i have to say is that it is industructable, and is super easy to run.
This phone lacked long battery life and was unbelievably glitchy. Although it was pretty much invincible, it had a load of problems. First off, the camera stopped working for about half a year, but then started working again for about a week before crashing. Also, the microphone broke after a week of use so I cant call people or listen to music. I have been counting down the days till I get a new phone for the past six months. Don't waste your time with this phone.
Overall, I would not recommend this phone. After the upgrade (from ice cream sandwich to jelly bean), the battery life plummeted, it began to overheat on a regular basis and, like I've noticed from other reviews, applications would stall and the phone would shut off. I got it for the value and the size initially, however, I would have now preferred something that would fall out of my pocket over a phone that won't last until lunch time.
I have had this phone for a little over a year and a half and have been having issues with it for the last several months. Not a single day goes by without it completely freezing up during the simplest tasks, forcing me to restart it. However, it doesn't just require a simple restart - no, I usually end up having to actually remove and replace the battery. I have to do this because if I just try a simple restart, the phone will hover on the LG turn-on screen forever. Seriously, I've timed it - I got impatient after waiting over 20 minutes with it hovering in limbo, plus it drains the battery more than any app I've ever used. It gets especially cranky when it's trying to update the apps, and for the life of me I cannot find a way to prevent it from doing these updates automatically, even after opting for manual updates on my apps. I get missed texts and missed calls almost as much as I actually receive them, as well as calls and texts not ever getting successfully sent from my end. And I sincerely believe that this has absolutely nothing to do with service availability - it just either just doesn't notify me that a call is coming in, resulting in a missed call notification with no record of it ever ringing, or it just never comes in despite it being shown as sent on the senders' phones. If a day goes by where I haven't had to talk myself down from throwing this phone against a brick/stone/concrete wall, running it over with my car, dropping it off my balcony, or drowning it in the toilet, it's been a very good and very rare day. One thing I will credit to this phone: durability. I have dropped it countless times, both accidentally and "accidentally," with only a clear screen protector on it and it doesn't even have the slightest crack on it. Which is great, except that I have the date for when I can get a new phone circled on my calendar and I would love have a reason make that sooner. It's probably only so durable just to mock me. I doubt I will ever purchase another LG phone after having to deal with this one. Which is a shame, because I really don't know whether it's an LG issue or a general Android issue (though I do have an Android tablet and have had no such problems with it) or even just isolated to a Lucid issue, but I'm not taking any chances.
I have had many phones and this was by far the slowest and most unreliable. It freezes constantly and can not complete simple tasks. It has very low memory and has a small amount of photo memory available. The picture quality lessened within the first month. The phone tells me i have a message and when I go to view it, there is nothing and the notification will not go away. Rebooting the phone does not work and it takes a large amount of time. I do not recommend this phone to anyone. It is a waste of time and money. LG did not do a good job at all on this phone.
