I was looking for a larger smartphone with a little more storage, updated android os and a brand I could trust. I purchased this phone 2 days ago, I have updated, downloaded, taken pictures and still have 60% left on the battery! The screen is very responsive. You can wake up the phone by double tapping on the front of the screen. It comes with 8GB internal memory, which is twice the memory than other phones in the price range. I was able to find a variety of cases and screen protectors online.
This is an excellent phone, I dont understand all the negatives on this phone. The people leaving negatives must be running on the old 4.4 kitkat. This phone has been recently upgaded to 5.1 lollipop. Sites need to change their specs on the phone they all say 4.4 kitkat. The phone runs on the samething the high dollar phones run on, yet its priced fairly cheap. You might see price go up now that they upgraded the transpyre to lollipop 5.1. Screen is beautiful, nice size, sick features now thanks to lollipop upgrade. For how cheap this phone is, itll still keep up with the expensive. What are people complaining about. Best bang for your buck of any phone. Why pay hundreds more for a phone that does exactly the same thing but with more memory. People act as if the processor on the more expensive phone is lightspeed ahead of the transpyre. I own a nexus5 and the transpyre aint that far behind it. My wife lost her phone, bought her the transpyre for $29 brand new. We need to stay in contact everyday because of our growing family. The phone was bought just as a short term replacement of her lost phone. Ends up she likes the phone, and so do I.
I've had this phone for almost a month now, and I LOVE IT! My iPhone broke, and I needed a replacement phone, but didn't wanna spend a fortune. So far this phone is awesome, the sound quality is really good, and calls come in clear! The only set back is the front camera is really grainy, but I downloaded an app that takes care of that. I haven't had a single crash or freeze up! Most of the apps are transferable to the sd card , so memory isn't a problem. Its really simple to operate as well, however, it doesn't come with much of a user's manual, so if this is your first smartphone you might wanna watch a tutorial on how to operate it. But other than that, I have ZERO issues with this phone!
Love it. Upgraded from a flip phone. Quick charge, good battery life. Also works like a tablet with WiFi. You can get the Magic Jack app and send text from email for the budget conscious. I ordered a case from eBay, none available at my store. Great sale price.
I put a review up on the HTC Desire 526 that only gave an average review in comparison of the older model MotoG. After a month it really showed the MotoG was still the better phone. App stability showed to be poor and bloatware was heavy. The extra ram showed limited benefits. I had two games that were choppy and Kingsoft Spreadsheets loaded and saved very slow. Another issue was answering a phone call, it would delay 2-3 seconds before I can talk. The question is if it was the newer O/S Lollipop and the HTC extras or the 0.1ghz difference of the processor is uncertain. Not that I expect iPhone or Samsung S6 from a budget phone but at least perform as well as the previous phone and it really missed the mark. The LG Transpyre was very comparable to the MotoG. It does lack a light notification reminder but it has an audio reminder setting in the “Messaging” app. Also there isn't an auto brightness sensor but changing the brightness level on the preset 62% usually covers most light situations and there is a quick brightness slide in the notification screen. The phone is little bit wider so the aspect ratio of the screen is slightly different and the sharpness is comparable. Software is a bit more stripped down, there is no comparable “Assist” app such as hands free, sound profile setting and lost phone finder like the MotoG but there is always an app for that. Facebook and a calculator isn't even preinstalled. That would explain why the LG has almost an extra gigabyte of storage available for the user in comparison to the HTC. I can confirm that it isn't Android Lollipop O/S that was the issue with HTC because the LG run really well with 5.1.1. Because of using Lollipop I can utilize the MicroSD slot better. Even when it was running Kitkat the LG has a really nice functional notification lock screen and I can double tap to turn on the screen. Visual effects doesn't seem to sacrifice performance and it adds a nice touch. It isn't a Motorola, it's a LG so there will be differences. I think they are both good brands and it is worth considering the LG brand. Overall it is a good phone.
I had to get rid of my LG G3 and had to go with a pay as you go plan. I saw this and I knew I'd like it coz it's an LG. After having the G3 and G2, both upper end phones I thought I'd give this a try. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles the G3 had but it's still an LG and a pretty good phone. I like the GUI, pretty much the same for all LG phones basically and it's a good brand I know I can trust. Battery life isn't that great but I'm sure I can find a second battery online. It's a relatively small 4.5" screen size, big difference than the G3 at 5.5". I'm just a big fan of LG products and this one seems like a good one. It's only got 8GB of storage onboard but it does have a microSD card slot which i have 64GB in it. And the battery does come out so you can just pop in a fresh one. Sound quality is good on both ends. And I like the 4G LTE. I missed the sale price by only a couple days, but $75 isn't all that bad. At least I had an LG to choose from. In the future, I will be getting the new LG V10.
The Transpyre is a great phone for those on a budget. It comes with 4G LTE capabilities and a super fast processor, Knock Code and brilliant screen. It's 8GB internal memory can get cramped, but the SD card support certainly helps as many downloadable apps can be moved onto it. The only drawback for me is that there are no music or video players on board so you are dependent on Google, and they are not as good as the traditional LG stock ones. Battery life is outstanding. Great phone and highly recommended.
I bought this phone from Verizon when it came out. So that makes it about 5 months that I've owned it. At first it was nice, but a while ago my battery started dying real fast. I had done nothing different. No new apps, I wasn't using it more, charging just as often... Also my texting messes up a lot and I can't figure out why or how to really fix it. It has a thing called "smart emoji" where you can type a word such as smile and it will put that word in a bubble. You then click the bubble and it changes the word to a smiley face. I have never used it (b/c I hate it) but it randomly turns on. Then I have to turn it on, wait, then turn it back off for it to go away most of the time. (as it was not actually turned on, but was still doing it anyway) Along with that words I would type would delete, and sometimes even whole sentences would just disappear. I already don't want this phone anymore, it is by far the worst I've had yet.
I had another verizon prepaid smartphone a year or so before this one, so I've had something to compare it to. The LG has the standard processor for this price point, which even seemed a tad faster than a comparable phone. The 4G is also nice, as it's absent on many of the similarly priced phones. However, the phone itself feels cheap and they're aren't any name brand covers available, at least that I've seen. The phone's biggest faults are the screen and camera. The camera's pictures are very grainy and definitely didn't meet expectations. The screen is big enough for me, but anything with a variety of color or any detail displays poorly. Interfaces also look cheap, almost like cartoons. The speaker sound is nothing to brag about either. If you absolutely have to have 4G, this phone might be for you. Otherwise, I'd go for a 3G phone with similar specs, but better overall quality.
This is about the fifth smart phone I've owned but it's the first one which was rather disappointing. I purchased this phone when the price went down to around $79, but now I consider it a lesson learned. The Transpyre is more a computer than a phone. It has a lot of bells and whistles, for instance the "daydream" feature which I love, but it simply is not a good phone. It looses calls, it drops calls for no apparent reason; at times it won't connect but leaves you with empty air. There is no rhyme or reason why it does this as none of my other phones have done it in the same places so you can't say you are in a "dead zone". The Transpyre does have some endearing features. It's easy to use and downloads apps with ease. It has no difficulty in handling e-mail and pictures. It simply caters to social media, making it very user friendly with Facebook and U-tube for instance. It can send you notifications about new mail or comments your friends make on F/B. You can text with ease as the touch keyboard is very responsive and even has voice text; and its Map with navigation feature is good for a cell phone. (Google Maps from the Play Store) There are many things I absolutely love about this phone - except its phone features. The 4G technology does wonders for data, but what does it do for the actual phone use? If there were two choices for how many stars to give this smart phone, one for app download and ease of use and another for its phone capabilities, I would gladly give the download and use of apps at least four stars but the phone capabilities perhaps two stars. This is a Verizon phone and uses the Verizon towers. When comparing this phone with other phones as far as call connectivity, the Transpyre is far less powerful. It's kind of sad because I really like all the other features this phone has to offer and if it had good call connectivity, it would be near perfect for my uses.
