I have been using this phone for a little over a year now. It is only my 3rd smartphone. I absolutely loved it and still do. I am giving this phone to my husband, who has never had a smartphone before, and I am upgrading to the LG G4. I am only changing to get a bigger megapixel camera size. I cannot emphasize how much I love this phone! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
The Lucid 3 is a nice update to the Lucid series. A larger, crisp screen headlines a decent phone with an array of features. The quad-core processor upgrade is most notable as there is no lag when running applications. The 1GB of RAM, however, is a tad slow and the phone can lag occasionally when switching between apps or returning to the home menu. The battery life is great and can last all day with moderate to heavy use.
I like the phone but wouldn't get it again for the following reasons: Battery is the poorest I've ever experienced. I have to plug it in several times per day and I am not a heavy user. And yes I know about apps running in the background etc. The screen goes blank all of the time and I have a real struggle of a time bringing it back. Not a total shutdown but a partial shutdown. I am always wrestling with it to get my phone functioning again. The sound is of primitive quality. I knew this when I bought it. If you want quality sound, this isn't the phone for you. All of that said, I had an emergency and had to buy a phone full retail and the price was right. I knew I wasn't getting the best and the finest. I was willing to accept that. This is my first Android, and maybe they are all the same, but it is packed with detritus that I cannot remove. Apps I will NEVER use. Came with the deal. I hate that. If you want to pack my new phone with stuff, at least allow me to remove it.
Pros: Great screen size and image quality Very user-friendly Decent speakers for music or talking on speakerphone Cons: Low memory Apps will freeze up and/or shut down randomly (even after doing updates) Terrible battery, even with low use. Will frequently go down to 20% battery by 2:00 or so in the afternoon. Wishing I had done a little more research before purchasing this phone...
Like others, the pins on the phone charging port were damaged in less than 6 months of regular use. I used the charger that came with the phone and charged once or twice a day. I have had similar mini usb chargers on other brands of phone with no problems. Be sure you are willing to baby this phone or it will disappoint.
Had this phone for a week before I started having problems with it go a replacement phone and it to is also having problems I have had plenty of lgs and love the brand but hate this phone
Just terrible experience. The charge always inevitably fails or charges slowly, telling me to use the original charger that came with the phone, which is the only charger I use to charge it. Just ridiculous. LG Lucid was my first smartphone and I never had these kinds of problems. I will not buy another LG smartphone. :( [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I do not like this phone. I am not rough on phones. If this phone is in my shirt pocket, it works its way into Airplane mode. It is very slow to switch from landscape mode to portrait mode when you move the screen 90 degrees. The key pad disappears very quickly when making a call, so if you have to enter an extension or use an automated attendant and enter information, you have to go through one or two extra steps to get the dial pad back in view. When using the back up key during text or email mode, it does not work at times. Sometimes when you touch the backup/erase key, it types the letter "m".
I've had this phone for a year now, and at first was very pleased with it (having come from an even worse phone before). However after just a few months it was going at a snail's pace for every function. I found if I didn't restart it at LEAST twice daily it would just freeze on me. Now, mind you, I'm not one of those people with a gazillion apps. I usually keep about 10 downloaded apps, most of which are quite basic (whatsapp, messenger, google fit, etc). Despite this, and having 40% free memory (and all of my media and possible apps on my 32g SD card) it was still crawling. I found that I could keep almost no text conversations, no pictures or videos (even though they were saving to my SD card), etc or my phone would just keep freezing. So now I'm left with a phone that is sluggish at best, and in order to keep it functioning at all I have to restart it frequently and constantly keep cleaning out items that I shouldn't have to worry about. And I have to keep bare minimum apps, which kind of defeats the purpose of having a smartphone. On top of this the battery life is pathetic...12.5 hours of run time my butt. Try 4hrs. Oh and the camera stinks. To be fair it has been rather durable for me, I'm a bit clumsy but the screen has never broken.
This is the worst cell phone I have ever had. -The camera quality stinks - only 5mp. It will only take a non-grainy picture outside on a perfect day. -I have to do at least 4 restarts a day. -It will not answer, the phone locks up constantly - Does not work with the Bluetooth in my car - constantly connects and disconnects - Features like quiet time to don't work - you have to turn it on and off a few times before it works - whats the point? -Battery power stinks - only lasts 3/4 of the day -very slow in responding to opening apps - not much processing speed or internal storage Overall to me this is not a good product
