Titrate your doses up slowly. You will get used to the flush, and it subsides some with a little time. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
This works well in combination with other supplements. I like to think I am getting less filler because it's a powder within a capsule, altho the recent formulation seems to clump more than last year's. I usually don't take the whole capsule at once, but divided. I also appreciate that it does not attempt to "time-release" the niacin which never works well. I have grown quite accustomed to the flushing effect, and it feels like I'm detoxing and getting an extra energy boost too.
I have always been very pleased with Life Extension's quality in all the products I have bought and used. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Taking large doses of B 3. Prefer the flushing form. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
To me, feeling the flush indicates that the niacin is doing its job. If I acclimate to a single capsule and don't get my warm tingles, I occasionally will take another. I love it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
As always, life extension products are of the highest quality.
Of all the things I've tried over the years here, this is the only thing that actually works. By that I mean showing results in either how I feel or blood tests or both. If you can deal with the thrush, it helps with LDL cholesterol and triglycerides. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I wanted real niacin (nicotinic acid). The "supplement facts" on the bottle label says "niacin equivalents". Not sure what that means as the chemical name is not given. Previously I have used a different brand which is clearly labeled "nicotinic acid".
Will not purchase again as the side effects are not fun. I think this dose is too high for most people if they have sufficient dietary intake. About 15 min after consuming it, it caused extreme skin flushing that started from the scalp and traveled down the body as the circulatory system allowed for.....I felt like my hair was on fire at first, but then realized it was just an adverse reaction. I was very uncomfortable for about 40 minutes but then I started to feel better.
I have taken B w/niacin in the past. I am familiar with the niacin flush. However, this one is so bad! I looked like I had a bad sun burn. I itched everywhere and it lasted for several hours! I wil not take another one.
