The item is excellent. I was a little concerned about the wheels and I am pleasantly surprised. The heater stays in one place until you move it. More importantly the heater is wonderful and fulfills my needs. I am experimenting with the controls and so far so good!
This is a great little heater. It works in a way that exceeded my expectations. I'm using it in a 600 square foot space with high ceilings. Finally, a small heater that can actually do the job! I firmly believe that this heater is a great value and is worth a close look.
This little heater keeps my medium sized room at a comfortable temp. It takes a while for it to reach my desired comfort but it works very well and the size is great for me. This unit is small and sits inside a wood cabinet that blends with my other furniture and it has wheels so its easy to move from room to room. There is an included remote that operates the unit and nothing to assemble, the casters are already attached right out of the box. The fan runs very quiet and it also has a tip-over feature and a child lock safety feature.
I love this space heater! We use it in our family room. It is very attractive dark wood finish. It goes really well in our room. It has a large digital display, so you know how warm you have it set too. And it puts out a soft red glow when its heating. We've been able to turn our furnace down to 60 and just use this when we sit to watch TV or whatever. When we're up moving around, we don't mind the 60 degree setting, but when we sit down, it feels pretty cool. Love everything about this heater and hoping it will save us on energy costs. Our furnace never kicks on while we're using this and the currents from it even cause our ceiling fan to spin which in turn pushes the warm air back down to our level!
I have three infrared heaters throughout my house and that is the only heat I use. Two of them heat the bigger front rooms and this one heats the two back bedrooms. All of them have one thing in common, they are all LifeSmart heaters. If the heater is a LifeSmart heater, you can bet money it's a good one!
We have two of these and absolutely love them. They're very easy to work and they do best in an enclosed area or put right in front of you to keep you warm. The control panel is very easy to work and set for the temperature you want to keep your room at. The cabinet is easy to clean and dust and clean the filter out.
The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was that it was packed well and the handsome oak wood cabinet has a nice smell (not loud). It will go with most décor. There is no assembly required and it is ready to go out of the box. The castors (which work well) make it easy to move from room to room. It is not heavy, so it can be carried easily by most people if necessary. The infrared heater is great if you are going to be sitting or lying down for awhile because it is better for targeted or focused heating as opposed to convection heaters which warm the air in the room. If you are going to be moving around in a room, a convection heater would probably be your best choice, but if you are going to be stationary, infrared heaters are great and energy efficient. This heater heats up pretty fast and is very quiet. I can't stand noisy appliances, and this one is not a problem. It would be almost impossible to knock over this heater accidentally. It is low to the ground and the weight distribution was built with this in mind. I wanted this primarily to have available in case my heat pump goes out. I have not used it enough to be able to determine what kind of impact it has on my electricity costs. I'm in a 700 sq. ft. trailer, and it will not keep the whole trailer warm. The trailer is not insulated well at all. I would say that it will keep a large room (500 or 550 sq. ft.) warm in your average home. You might be pushing it if you need to heat a larger space. When you are not using it (and have unplugged it), you can use it as a small table and put things like plants on it if you wish. Don't put anything on it while in use. (even though it doesn't get hot on the top)
We use two of these as the sole source of heat in our home. One in the master bedroom and one in the den. The central heat is set at 62 and it has never come on. We used 286 kilowatt hours less than the same month last year heating our home. (December) These heaters run about 60 percent of the time and keep the house at 72 degrees plus. Our doberman loves to lay in front of it. ;) Four stars because the thermostat isn't very accurate. I ignore it and go by how the room feels.
This little heater is attractive and impressive. I'm using it in my living room so I can lower the temperature on my propane furnace. It was well packed but I did need to put a screw back in one of the casters and tighten some screws around the other 3 casters. The casters make it easy to roll to any part of the house(even on carpet) but it is fairly easy to pick up and move, too. The instructions are straight forward. Make sure you use a 3 prong outlet that is dedicated to this heater only. Don't forget to turn on the Master Power Switch on the back before using the power button on the front or on the remote. I had it heating the room quickly. The wooden case stays cool except for the area directly in front of the vent. The remote control is a very nice feature that I didn't realize I would use, but I really love it. It's easy to access the power, temperature, heater modes, timer, and child safety lock with the remote. The ambient room temperature guage on the heater was accurate when I compared it with a thermometer I have in my living room. I have to run a humidifier through the winter and I'm really happy that this infrared heater doesn't take the humidity out of the air. My only complaint, both timer settings work but the Timer LED notification light does not work. It took 2 days of phone calls to Lifesmart during their PST hours to reach someone in customer service. I was told the light had nothing to do with the actual operation of the timer but there was no offer to fix the light or replace the unit. I did send an email to Lifesmart customer service when I couldn't reach them by phone the first day. I never have received a response to my email. Lifesmart customer service does disappoint me and I do wish the light worked so I deducted 1 star. Overall, I'm warm and happy to use this heater. The ease of use and multiple safety features along with the minor maintenance of cleaning the lifetime air filter every 3 months makes this heater a winner.
This heater is junk, 3 months the fan is bad, loud noises, will not cool the heating elements causing overheating error code. Called the manufacturer, they are sending a replacement fan to install. Thats great however they should have replaced the heater. just more China junk.
