What an awesome cooler!! Put 4 bags of ice in this cooler and all of our groceries for the Memorial Day Weekend. After 5 days of camping we still had 4 bags 3/4 full thst we were able to dump on our trees and bushes when we got home Monday afternoon. I recommend these Lifetime Voolers to any and all in search of a very high quality cooler at a bargain price. Thank you Lifetime Coolers!!
Haven’t used yet so not sure how accurate the 10 day ice retention is but the build quality and latches seem great for the price. Less than 1/2 the cost of a yeti
Cooler is great!! A basket that fits the 77Qt and the 115Qt Lifetime cooler is the "Igloo Wire Basket for 90 Qt Rotomold Coolers, Black (20166)" It fits both coolers like it was made for them...
I like that it kept my ice cold for 12 days and it says it has a 10 day ice retention. Also like the fact it has a very good seal and that is bear resistant.
Bought this to use on a 18' Boston Whaler as a cooler/seat combo behind the helm. Perfect height for sitting and driving! Doesn't slide at all. Actually found a cushion at Home Depot that fit the top perfectly.
Ive used arge coolers on extended desert rafting trips where the temperatures are above 100 degrees for 5-6 days for more than 20 years. . Lifetime coolers hold ice as well as the best roto-molded brand, no question there. The difference has been durability. Standing on lifetime coolers, one could feel the lid sag and deform, causing the cooler not to seal as well. This cooler seems to have resolved that. I weight 190 pounds and standing on it there is no perceptible sag. Quart-for-quart, this is about $300-500 less than a roto-molded cooler. Ive been waiting for a cooler like this for 20 years. These are also lighter than root-molded, and the latch mechanism is more durable than most of them which use a rubber latch that crack over time.
The shipping box is thin, so one side ripped and the whole side got scuffed up during shipping. It's not the end of the world. It holds ice very well and is very sturdy to sit or even stand on. Wish that it had tie down holds molded into the side like a yeti. The cutting board/divider is a very nice addition that's included at no extra cost.
I purchased this cooler simply because it stated “10 day Ice retention”. Now I'm a hot shot driver that stays over the road for weeks at a time. This cooler sounded perfect. I know that it was a stretch to expect 10 days while in the back of my truck, out in the open, but 3-5 days would have satisfied me. Not even. I placed my food and drinks in and a 20 lb bag of ice over the items early morning and by that evening less than half the ice was gone. I'm lucky to have ice last 2 days. I have had it for about a month with same or less than posted results. For the price and statement, it's too much for me. I gave it 3 stars because the cooler itself is awesome. Sturdy, large capacity, heavy (technically anti theft, lol) but I'd prefer better ice retention. I viewed the ice retention videos on their website, coolers.lifetime.com (post purchase) and still found it to be unusable for my needs. If you are needing a cooler “child proof”, don't know much about bear proof, and follow the instructional videos, this is your cooler.
4 days top for ice retention... After first time using the ice lasted a little over 3 days .Drained ice cold water and replenished with ice .Cooler kept on open porch with roof..Cans and inside cooler was cold when put new ice in .No need to get in cooler after placed ice in again..opened cooler on fourth day and ice was gone and cold water was left. No way can get close to the 11 days of ice retention in this cooler. But it works for the holidays when need to have lots of drinks on hands for that day.
Doesn't really live up to expectations. i have a small off brand cooler that keeps ice longer than this one. Also, i keep the latches closed when im not using it and the outaide edges where the holes are for locks, if you choose, started curling up. Really have no use for this cooler. I shouldve gone with a yeti and spent the extra money. This cooler was a waste of my hard earned money.
