[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Growing up in rural southern country side, a cooler was a standard of a piece of equipment that stayed in the bed of your 4x4 truck. During my life as a soldier, game warden and street cop, I have been through dozens and dozens of coolers, all of which failed by falling apart. Broken lid hinges and drain covers, busted handles and lost lids became the norm. Keeping ice more than a day was unheard of. Being a K9 Officer and handling a 105 pound solid black German Shepherd, better suited for the Siberian winter than the Arkansas heat, left me looking for a better cooler to keep water cold for the both of us in our patrol car. Not willing to pay for the over priced $600 coolers on the market, I began my search for an affordable, but better cooler. I found Lifetime! I bought the 55 quart last year, and although it was much bigger than I wanted to keep in the back of my unit, it was the best purchase I made in a long time. It held ice for 6-7 days in the summer heat in my patrol unit. I was ecstatic to learn of Lifetime's new, smaller 28 quart cooler and I was able to get my hands on one as soon as they were available. The 28qt is the perfect size for what I need. It is built, very much over engineered. The hinges are strong and I love the handle system to lock down the lid, so much better than anything else on the market. Lifetime has also made an upgrade on the lid seal on the 28qt model, when you open it, it sounds like its vacuum sealed. I have not had a chance to test it in the heat, but it is keeping my water from freezing in 15 degree weather, which is an equally big deal. My favorite thing of all is, Lifetime is made in the USA!!! One of the best made coolers on the market, at any price point!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife and I love lifetime coolers. We've had a 55 quart cooler for a year now and we still love it. We got the 28 quart cooler a few days ago and it matches or beats the quality of our 55 quart cooler. It feels sturdy and well built, but it isn't too heavy. It comes with a rigid handle that makes it a breeze to carry even when full. It has a lock that doubles as a bottle opener. Our favorite feature is the easy open/close latches. These are without a doubt the best designed latches we've seen on a cooler at any price point. As soon as we got it, we wanted to test it out, but the weather lately hasn't been exactly what you'd call cooler testing temperature. We were curious to see how long it would hold ice under more real world conditions. We've never pre-chilled a cooler, so we started we the cooler at room temp, we tossed in a 10lb bag of ice and a 12 pack of room temperature sodas. This filled the cooler about half way. With that setup I left it in the living room in front of the fire place and waited to see what happened. After 72 hours there was still a small amount of ice left and the drinks were still ice cold. I have no doubt, that with proper pre-chilling of the cooler, and loading it with cold items it would reach the advertised 5 days of ice retention. This past weekend, we took it out and used it like we would normally. Based on its size we plan to use this cooler for day trips and overnighters. We packed a picnic lunch and some cold drinks then used a couple of reusable ice packs to chill thing down. This setup filled the cooler about halfway. We had a long day out and everything was still well chilled at the end of the day. This cooler fits nicely below the bed rails of our truck and it also makes a good seat. We can't wait for more adventures with this cooler. Lifetime did provide us with a 28 quart cooler to review however, if they hadn't given us one we would have purchased one. We think this cooler is simply the best value for money available. It has features and performance that rival high priced coolers at an affordable price.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow, this thing is amazing! I recently got the Lifetime 28 Quart Cooler from LifetimeProducts and couldn't be more impressed with the size, weight and durability of this product. , and the ability to keep my refreshments ice cold during long hours. I spend a lot of time kayaking, and finding a cooler that was within my budget but also having the ability to keep my refreshments and snacks ice cold during long hours on the water was key during my purchasing process. I usually kayak with a large group, so I especially wanted to find one that wasn't too small, but also too big for the size storage area on the back of my Lifetime Tahoma Pro - this cooler fit perfectly and held everything my group needed for the day. Two underrated features that I really like on this product is the foldable handle, making it super easy to carry and maneuver when completely full, along with the built-in bottle opener which gets a ton of use during college football tailgates. I plan to use this cooler for many many adventures to come!
I bought this cooler a couple of years ago and I love the cooler. Two of the rubber nonskid pads on the bottom of the cooler came off and I need to replace them. This cooler is definitely worth maintaining because it is a great cooler that will keep ice for days!
I am a UPS driver and I love this product. If it falls over it doesn't leak keeps ice for up to five days in the back of 120° truck. It's awesome I love it totally recommend it less than half the price of other coolers like it
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great customer service, home run!
Well I was expecting a better quality when it comes to resistance on the ice.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased cooler four weeks ago. Love how long the ice last. However it is not perfect two weeks ago the right side latch broke. Now a month has passed since new now the left side latch has broken. Without the latches the ice is melting faster now.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The ice chest was hardly used and one of the latches already broke. Working with the remaining latch but sure it's a matter of time before it snaps too. The lid won't stay flush without a latch hooked so it'll be worthless without at least one working. Seeing many other reviews with the same issue.
Was given a delivery date of 2 June, schedule a eeek vacation to return on 2 June so I would be home, now it's being delivered on 31 May and possibly will be stolen off porch before I get back. This is not good customer service! I'm three states away and have no recourse to take. Sub standard Walmart, not customer oriented but it appears it's just about Walmart. I am not happy.
