Never thought I would spend more than $40 on a cooler, but I did not want to spend up to $400 on one of the "premium" coolers. The Lifetime cooler appeared to be a good price to performance compromise and I was not wrong. The cooler keeps items cold longer than a cheaper more traditional cooler. Beverages stored with ice stay cold for days. The item is very sturdy. One could easily stand on the top of it and not damage it. Useful features include: carrying handles that are well placed and comfortable. Front locks are easy to use and appear to be durable. There is a slot to lock the cooler with a padlock. The drain is sturdy and a hose can be attached for drainage when full of water which can make the cooler too heavy to move. The lid and main compartment have a tight seal with a thick gasket to lock in the cold. This product is supposed to be "bear-proof", which I'd rather not test out if I can help it! Overall, very pleased and would recommend as a good alternative to the other brands.
This is an awesome cooler. Keeps ice for real long time. Made in USA. Buy American products. Great size built very sturdy.
I am in love with my new Lifetime cooler. I bought it for a road trip camping trip in Arizona and Utah. Mind you, its summer. It held up like a gem despite the 102 degree weather. Of course, we had to replenish with a bag of ice just to top off once a day, but that is amazing considering the desert heat. 10/10
Cost is minimal for all the great features this cooler provides. Insulating ability for camping is great, durability is great, Lightweight yet strong enough to keep a bear out. Shipping is fast. I do wish the Item could be shipping to Puerto Rico for less money though. Get this Item while they are available, they sell out fast! :-) John at outdooradventuredirect. com
Bought for our excursions- went to a motocross race, 90 degrees - bag of ice melted just a little - I was able to put the 5lb bag of ice back in the freezer to reuse for the next weekend excursion- we used it as a cooler, a seat and a step stool to get in the bed of the truck. Its definitely sturdy and will not cave in on you. Love the clasps the best.. no broken finger nails opening or closing this bad boy..
So i did some research on the 55 and 77 and had seen bad reviews in the past but recently the reviews were so much better with a new lid and gasket design so i purchesed each. I have had the 55 for about 7 months and it has performed flawlessly but used maybe a dozen times, just purchased the 77 three weeks ago and to say i was impressed with them was an understatement! I pre cool because i own two roto molded coolers and it works great! These hold ice longer than both of my high dollar roto molders (seriously) ! I take care of my coolers , rinse and completely dry them after each use and with these, i never latch them when not in use ( per directions) as i now do with my roto molders. I used these two weeks ago for 8 days in the galveston heat and they performed flawlessly . I dont stack my coolers when in storage or in use but i just went outside ( in my garage) and noticed that both tops on the lifetimes are warped with the edges being raised.... not happy to say the least! Here are my observations with the coolers: 1- The latches are the best on the market but need to be relocated further out from the center! 2- there needs to be a suction realease vent ( other than unscrewwing the drain cap) because these things create a suction that is unbelievable! Five stars for keeping ice, 3 stars for design flaws! I know they are warranteed but that is a pain in the darrier especially if they used the same lid- and they will! I don’t know what im going to do about the lids....! Trying to find an after market Vent button to install on them for suction release! I don’t know why my 55 waited until now to warp... maybe i just didnt see it! Pics of each opened! When latched they are still warped!
2 years or so later I use this for an outing and ice melts in a day leaving very little left. I realize all the foam has shrunk and the top, sides are sucked in. Either poor quality foam or poor non educated in foam. I gave it two stars because it lasted a little longer than my old basic shell ice chest. I have included 2 pictures , one with just the gap and the other me putting weight on it so hopefully they actually post it.
Highly disappointed in shipping. Cooler was not in a box and The cooler came scraped and looked as if it had been kicked around. We tried to get the marks off but were unsuccessful.
Ordered item to be shipped and it was not received in box/carton. The product looked as though it had been used and returned to store by someone else. There were multiple scratches along top lid, sides and bottom edges of ice chest. I was not impressed by the way walmart handles its customers orders. Store representatives were not helpful when shopping for item in store. Multiple pictures of damage, only attached two. One star only because shipped on date stated on order.
I bought the 28 qt size and it warped like a banana , When you skimp on material in manufacture trying to earn max profits instead of making great products this is the result , engineers are the problem , those knowing the cost of everything yet not the value of anything. Make a great product and profits will march in the door . Make shoddy products that sell for a high quality price and we get this. I was given another one as a present and two months in guess what its warped seriously , now I own two of these useless things , Dont purchase this line of coolers
