Our oldest child recently started driving which adds another car to the mix. We needed to find space for all the things that used to be in the garage but are now taken up with an additional vehicle. The shed is a great option and while it took a few hours to assemble, the instructions are very well written and easy to follow. I was amazed at how all the pieces fit together like a puzzle. We probably spent six hours in total putting it I would definitely recommend this shed to anyone looking for an option to increase their storage. We purchased some landscape timbers from the local home-improvement store and built a foundation and backfilled with gravel.
I purchased two small sheds and two extensions about 10 years ago. After years in the California sun I disassembled the sheds and packed them up when I retired. I moved 2,000 miles and took the disassembled sheds with me, they stayed in storage for 3 years while I purchased property and built a house. Now it's time to put the sheds back up, and I ordered a few parts, mostly screws, to replace those lost or broken in the move. They arrived right away, no fuss at all. I have one shed up already and the other one goes up in about two weeks. Fantastic customer service, great folks, wonderful products. I intend to buy another shed sometime next year. Here are a couple in progress photos.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought my Lifetime shed in 9/2006. It has been a very good, sturdy and attractive storage shed, no leaks or any other issues. Early March 2022 a tree came down brushing the back corner and damaged the left back corner panel, side panel and the window. A roof panel came off but was not damaged and the inside roof braces were fine. I contacted Lifetime to find out if I could purchase replacement panels. Customer Service Agent Justin responded the next day. He asked for the model number, pictures and a copy of the original receipt (believe it or not I still had it). Justin asked me to identify the panel part numbers from the installation manual and send the information to him. I also asked him to please let me know much the replacements would cost. The next thing I knew the replacement panels were at my front door. No invoice no charge. Without a doubt this is a company you can count on. Now I have purchased the Lifetime Horizonal shed to place next to the old but like new original shed.
When we built our house, we knew we wanted a lifetime shed. They look nice, they are affordable, and they last forever. This is our second lifetime shed (the first one was left at our last home). It's been fabulous and has plenty of room for all of our yard tools. We love it! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Excellent quality DIY shed kit. Assembly is definitely a project but I was able to knock it out in a weekend with my 13 yd old daughter as assistant. Assembly instructions were generally very good including QR codes with explanatory videos which were helpful at a few points. A bit fiddly to get the wall panels to properly engage with the floor and also to get the roof trusses correctly installed - but came out great overall. A solid flat platform for the shed to set on is critical.
I purchased the 8ft by 7.5ft Lifetime shed from Costco. I spent a couple of weeks building a concrete slab for the shed to sit on. While the slab building was a laborious task, it made building the shed so much easier. It took me and my wife about 6 hours to build the shed. A lot of that time was putting together the roof trusses, gables and doors. Once we actually started putting the shed together on the concrete slab it took about 2 hours. I would suggest taking the time beforehand to assemble the roof trusses, gables and doors. That way when you're ready to build the shed you won't have to spend a lot of time assembling these pieces. Now that the shed is completed it looks great! I'm amazed at how much stuff I was able to get out of my garage and into the shed.
Love this shed! Came with shelves that i wasnt expecting. Was easy to put together after watching video and than following instructions. Pay the extra 100.00 for made in america!!!
The shed is nice enough and the instructions and the design seemed well thought out. I built on a wood platform that was completely level side to side but sloped back a few inches as part of the yard drainage. This caused the first corner to be impossible to install so I ended up leveling the platform front to back which helped get the corners to go in. I also ordered the extreme weather kit which made the shed much sturdier. I do think they should have included some of those reinforcement pieces in the original package. Purchased at Costco. The plans for building the platform were helpful to have printed out in advance. Some holes were not punched out (photo) requiring some work to clear them to allow screws through.
I am a relatively handy person. This isn't the first shed I have put together. I read the instructions and watched the YouTube video… this is one of the toughest sheds I have ever put together and the directions are not great. The YouTube video is helpful but the guy putting it together must have perfect pieces or something because I tried to do things exactly how he did it and I struggled, with the help of 2 other people. Because this went together so poorly I am concerned about how it will hold up. I bought this because it was made in the USA and it was a lifetime product but but now I wish I bought something easier to assemble. In total this probably took 3 people about 10 hours to put together after we took all the pieces out of the boxes (the base was already in place so we didn't have to make a new one).
What a nightmare. We have worked on this for days. So many parts are off or crooked. I will never buy another one of these. I need to figure out how to return it. What a waste of time.
