I use a lot of these switches in my lan system and they work fine. 5 minutes after it arrived it was in service. What's not to like
Super easy plug and play installation, small size and a perfect router extension when more Ethernet ports are needed. Great price and a recommended buy!
The Linksys SE3008 v2 is a great switch. The small size lets it fit into tight spaces and is easy to mount on a wall.
Ordered this item originally on Amazon. When it was delivered, it was the wrong item. I ordered a Links's 8-Port wired Switch (model number SE3008). I received a model No. SE3008V2. The difference is the placement of the indicator lights on the opposite side of where the Cat5 plugs are. This was ideal for my setup. I then saw this on Walmart for half the price of the one I ordered from Amazon. When it arrived from Walmart, it was again the WRONG UNIT. You see above that they are calling it model No. SE3008. That is incorrect. The one I received from Walmart was a 3008V2.
My new fiber modem came with only one wired port. In order to get fiber advertised speed you wired ports. This gave me 5 more ports for less than $20.
With its sturdy metal housing, which is cool to the touch, this switch just works (I bought two). It can be mounted on a wall or placed on a table but it works very well regardless. If you're looking for a quality switch then Linksys SE3008 should be a the top of your list.
This switch works great, no problems or drop outs.
I have an LSG-108. Power, and Ethernet connectors in back. Activity LEDs on front. Sits on the desk nicely. All cables on the back side. That evidently no longer exists. Now, to see activity lights, you have to be looking at Ethernet cables. Or, you see no lights, and the power cord is awkardly in front, while all the Ethernet cables are in back. I hate the new design for home-desktop use. I love Linksys devices, but this was a mistake to change this.
This is not the same as the picture on the website shows, it is version two. The connections are on the fron on the device, and the power is on the back. The picture that is on the website does NOT show the connections on the front, and that was the main reason for ordering it. I will still use it, but I have to rethink where to put it now that I have the one that I could have picked up anywhere, instead of having it shipped to me.
The product does not have any indicating lights and the power cord is not where it's shown in the picture. Cannot tell if it is on or off without having to turn it around to look at the cables and see if they are active.
