I received the Listerine Cool Mint floss from Home Tester Club. I used the floss for a week and feel the floss itself is easy to use and keeps intact while you are using it. The string does not come apart in between your teeth or get stuck while flossing. The cool mint flavor is very strong, it definitely freshens your mouth. I felt as though I used mouthwash after using it. It did almost sting my mouth a bit just like mouthwash does and that was the only negative effect of it. Other than that I felt it was easy to use, held up and freshened my mouth and even my breath.
My wife is a dental hygienist and I am a dentist. We are unable to find the multi-strand woven floss that previously was Reach, and then Listerine floss. The Listerine floss is now single strand, waxed thread. It is OK, but in our opinion it is not as efficient in removing plaque from between teeth as the previous multi-strand, woven floss. We miss it!
Your new floss is okay and better than most of the slippery ones on the market for getting the plaque off my teeth, but you Gentle Gum Care Woven Floss was the best. I'd be willing to pay a premium price for it if you brought it back. Sort of like "the new" Coke--we want the old version back!
Much prefer the Gentle Gum Care Dental Floss but it hasn't been available for many months - please bring it back. The Gentle Gum Care is fibrous and absorbs plaque well, whereas the non-fibrous and waxed types don't have real absorption power and don't remove plaque as well.
I see I'm not the only one. I'm casting my vote here too. I am really sad that the woven floss is discontinued. It was the most effective, in my opinion, at removing debris. I do not wish to call your 800 number to discuss. It's plain and simple. Easy, just bring it back please. Thanks!
Have used all kinds of other flosses, including this one and the Ultraclean, and none of them are any good. The woven floss felt like it cleaned so much better. I can't understand why you discontinued the woven. These others all feel like I'm doing nothing. Talked to my dentist today and he agreed that the woven cleaned better, but said some people found it harder to use and said it shredded. Well, that's some people, since obviously I and others do not have that problem. Please bring back the woven floss.
I am a dental hygienist and I am so disappointed that you discontinued the Gentle Gum Care Woven mint floss! It was my absolute favorite floss for my own personal use. I hate using waxed floss. The woven floss was more effective in removing and preventing plaque!
I bought this with high hopes that it would be an adequate replacement for the Gentle Gum Care woven floss. It isn't. For my teeth and sensitive gums that was the best floss ever. Given the growing number of requests for information on why it was discontinued and if/when it might return a direct answer to those questions would be greatly appreciated. My husband likes this floss, but I don't recommend it as a replacement for the woven floss.
Adding my voice to bring back the woven floss. (Gentle gum care with cinnamon). Good thing I had it stockpiled, but I'm running out. I have purchased every other floss I've found in the grocery and drug store, looking for something comparable. Haven't found anything yet.
I HAD a favorite floss: REACH woven floss Then it was bought by J&J and re-branded "Listerine": "Formerly REACH floss" That was fine because the product was the same woven floss. Now, the woven floss seems to be gone and all we have in it's place is waxed floss. Waxed floss is useless. PLEASE bring back the woven floss. I would be a customer for life if you just continued offering the woven floss.
