Grandson loves it He plays in his sand box with it and sings his little song
I purchased the Little Tykes sandbox for my twin grandsons' birthday gift. It comes with a dump truck. Not wanting one to have a truck and not the other, I went back and found the excavator that was supposed to be compatible with the sandbox. The excavator is four times the size of the dump truck. It takes up 3/4 of the sandbox. The excavator itself is large and easy to handle, and well worth the price.
This toy does not have handles to work to dig up the dirt, so the kids have to use their hands to push it down and dig up, and it doesn't move easily so that is difficult. I believe they are quite disappointed in it. Possibly it's made this way to be "safer"?? I don't know, but it doesn't meet up to the Little Tikes Reputation. It is durable, however.
