Was a present for an elderly stroke patient. She loves it and gives her and her family extreme peace of mind. The subscription rates are a bit higher than other brands, but she's very happy. Considering the majority of their customers are elderly, the customer service rep from Lively that set it up for her had little patience in talking to an older person.
I bought this as a gift-an upgrade for a 4 year old GreatCall alert for my Mother. We have been very pleased w/the alert, and the service. It has come in handy when she fell, even though I was close by they contacted 911 for us.& when she has inadvertently dropped the device they immediately contacted her to make sure she was okay. I am upgrading strictly for the convenience of 3+ days between charges, & more pinpoint GPS service. She also has the Greatcall phone which has an enlarged screen/buttons & makes it easier to use with her failing eye sight.
This is perfect for anyone that spends any time alone whos vulnerable to possible falls, confusion, health problems. I bought this for my grandmother and had it set up within 15 minutes, I used my own smartphone to create an account and enter all neccessary emergency info. Its $26/month after tax for basic emergency plan. Its easy to charge you just drop it on the dock and it makes a sound to let you know its charging. When you press the button a Lively agent gets on in 20 seconds or so and gets you the help you need. They can call a family member or emergency services.
Bought for my mom as she is getting older and not as steady on her feet. She has used it twice, not related to a fall. Service calls me to let me know what is going on. Has given me peace of mind to know she can get the help/advice from a nurse when she needs it.
This has given us a great sense of safety for my mother for many years. We also have fall detection which is a great feature. It also works away from the home. We were so grateful that Best Buy had this at such a good price because the battery on my mother's old one finally died and would have taken a couple weeks at least to deliver a new one from GreatCall. She had just had a stroke prior to this, and I did not want her to be without it that long. Thanks to Best Buy, we found this. None of the other drug stores which were supposed to have it did (were out of stock) and had it at twice the price as Best Buy. We highly recommend this, if for no other reason than to have a sense of security and safety for your loved one. It is also easy to use and hangs as a necklace so you do not have to worry about finding a pocket for a cell phone type device. It is great and at an affordable price each month and very much worth it for the added safety.
I had the earlier version 5Star. This is MUCH better 4g and awesome GPS, this runs off Verizon and gets better reception than before. I feel more secure just knowing I just have to short push the button to get a response for any problem or hold the button down and it goes straight to 911.
Bought this for my mom who is in her late 80s, she had some difficulty understanding the concept. However, after repeated review of its functions, she seems to have it figured out. The set up process seemed a bit cumbersome. Overall, it appears to work correctly and gives us peace of mind that she can contact someone for assistance without having to dial her cell phone.
I have been putting off buying a medical alert device for 9 years, I recommend to all of my friends who live alone that they should buy one. I do not like to wear a cumbersome item around my neck and did not want a central box so this was perfect. I can clip it on my pants or bra, it has a built in GPS so it goes wherever I go and it is very light in weight. Bottom line is, this little device gives me so much confidence. Customer service has been wonderful . Should have bought it years ago.
I purchased this for my dad and at first, I was questioning because we had to send the original one back because it wouldn't activate. Lively sent us a new one that was already activated and ready to go. Since then it's been working fine. This item does need it's own line to work. It doesn't link to the phone which is not explained before hand.
Purchased the Great Call Lively Mobile Plus Medical Alert Device - I purchased the device for my sis-in-law, we live in a rural area. You need and excellent internet connection to use the device. I tried to activate the device and it would not connect. I called customer service, they were unable to connect the device. The company sent a new device, that was activated when received. it worked for one day, we charged at night, the second day, it would not connect. I kept trying and finally got a connection only to lose it later in the day. We sent it back. We stream TV and have WiFi extenders in our home and use cell phones only. I would say our internet works fine. However this product was not strong enough to keep the signal. On a good note it was easy to use.
