I freaking love these, they sound amazing and fit great
This is what VR needs! The off ear really made the experience more realistic without anything on my ears. The quality of the sound was superb.
I hated the built in sound on the Quest. These are amazing! Loud crisp sound. Love how you can move them out of the way and mute the sound. Great stuff!!
Pros - Super easy setup Looks cool and sounds good Mutes when you swing speaker back parallel to strap Cons - Consumes battery a bit Adds noticeable weight but you get used to it Vibration when swinging speaker to mute position causes Quest to go into pass through mode at times My thoughts - I didn't think they were doing much audio-wise until I unplugged them and listened to the stock audio of the Quest 2. It really does make a difference! I only wish they didn't drain the battery as much as they do because I want to keeep experiencing the sonic bliss!
It looks and fits greats but I think it drains my battery.
It was easy to install and easily plug into the USB C port of the Quest 2. The sound quality is excellent and helps provide an immersive gaming experience. I didn't give it a 5 star because of the technical limitation of the Chorus. You have to unplug the USB C when recharging the Quest 2. The USB C passthrough port has limited usage as it doesn't allow PCVR via Occulus Link and doesn't recognize occulus link cable to recharge the Quest 2 or other charging cable. It has limited use only to allow elite headstrap with battery to plug in.
It was a couple steps up from the original Quest 2 built-in audio. I'm okay with that. But the problem I had was the power draw. The extended battery couldn't keep up with the headphones attached to my Quest 2. I got a low battery warning when I had a good deal of battery left in my extended battery. I also had an issue where the Chrous was connected to my headset and the audio worked just fine, but when I charged my extended battery, it failed to pass the charge to the Quest 2. I had to re-seat the USB-C connection. It just wasn't worth the pain, so I am going back to use my 3.5mm headphones.
I was excited to try this out, however when I did, I was disappointed. I expected a big change in audio quietly, however the sound was horrible compared to the stock audio. You lost out on so much detail, and there was this constant white noise playing, muffling everything. The battery also took a big change, I got significantly less time. The speakers also never stopped playing the white noise, even when turned off, draining battery when not in use. You might have a better experience with this, however I do not recommend it if you got good headphones.
With all the charging bases and straps out there this design is terrible. This will not allow any of the current charging bases to continue to function because of the USB C port. And with all the straps already on the market many folks have found strap kits that already suit them very well. These headphones should have been designed with that in mind and at the very least plugged in to the audio jack as their other products do.
USB C passthrough port only provides power and does not support the link cable for PCVR. If it had data passthrough this would have been the PERFECT accessory but sadly it does not. This information is also not very well displayed on the product page and is hidden in an asterisk popup for more information about the USB-C "passthrough"
