Works better than expected, does everything I wanted some of which was slow to happen with the laptop pad, good size and easy to use. I got this mostly for airline travel, where I was too cramped often to use the laptop pad, this goes off to the side or on my knee and allows me to work in a tight space much more comfortably. I now use it all the time as I like being able to have my hand to the outside of the laptop similar as using a mouse, but now I can sit almost anywhere put this down and not need a flat surface. I have found that I use this much more than expected.
You need this device if you don't run Windows 8 on a touch screen. Don't fool yourself into thinking you can use your mouse or conventional touch pad for windows 8. It just isn't the same.
I have been using this TouchPad for about two weeks now, and although it takes a bit to get used to, it functions perfectly fine for me. There is a little bit of a learning curve to Windows 8, but once you get the hang of it, it's rather a breeze to use. I haven't had any issues with this device since installing it on my new Dell laptop, and I much prefer to use this than the smaller pad ON the laptop, though I do tend to migrate back and forth depending on what the heck I'm doing at the moment. If you don't have a touch screen, then this is a mighty fine option to get a similar experience.
Much better than getting your monitor covered in finger smudges! The variety of different shortcut gestures is great. Only downside is actions which involve a click and drag, this is much easier with a mouse.
I bought this on sale from Walmart for a little more than half the price it normally is and it's a great value. It hooked up with my Windows 8 computer just fine. My only problem is that sometime the touchpad doesn't register my click. However if I push down on the lower left corner for my click the whole thing resets and starts working fine.
I'm a little heavy-handed so I find the pad hyper-sensitive at times - links selected I don't want, windows moving, etc. At the same time, it doesn't always seem to catch a window when I want to move it on my screen. I'm still getting used to it and it may work better for me with time, but this is not a product that you'll immediately be using with ease if you are like me (whatever that means:))
I chosed this as a Dell-recommended accessory to an XPS One 2710 computer, and also because I've been very pleased with the Logitech keyboard/mouse combo on previous computer. Installation was easy, but I'm not happy with this touchpad device. When I have it turned on, it makes my display do uncommanded things - desktop icons jump around, windows change size, etc. This happens when I'm not touching the device. I may try moving the plug-in to a different port to see if that will help.
