Picked this product up by accident one day at the drugstore, best accident that ever happened. This is the best of any hair putties that I have ever found!!!!! Only problem now is I am have a hard time finding it....
I have short , layered pixie cut. I like my layers to be defined and textured looking. This product does just that, it defines the layers and pieces very well, and i like that i can use it on my wet hair before drying, or after my hair drys. I also like that it has a matte finish. One of the best putty's , and i hope walmart will continue to carry it.
Every time i fall in love with a product, it gets discontinued. This one is no exception. I am so very tired of buying and trying hair products ( or any products, that is ), and having to toss it because it's junk. This was the best. Please bring it back!
A year ago I purchase this product, it was very great, but recently the products texture and hold changed, as you can see here in the picture, it would be nice to make it as it was before
If you are coming to the reviews to see if the product has changed because your latest purchase looks, feels and smells different, you are correct. L'oreal has completely changed the formula and makes no mention of it on their packaging. It has no hold and behaves nothing like the original. I know a lot of people complained about not washing out easily, but that enhanced its performance. Those that complained could easily find any other new product, but this product was unique. Don't waste your money if you are a long time user until L'oreal states that have returned to the original formula. It was kind of shady on their part to make the change, yet not own it on the packaging. And FYI, you'll get no help from their help line. They have no alternative product to suggest.
Randomly found at CVS and fell in love - bought it in bulk to make sure it was always around - went to go buy another 4 tubs and it is so different. Is there any way you can bring back the old formula. Have no clue how I am going to do my hair now. Please help.
What the heck, I've used this product with the (4) strength for many years every day people and it was like a dream come true. I've never seen matte paste with this all day amazing hold. Now..... the product changed its ingredients and now it's sucks. It's oily lotion and has no hold. Why would you do this? You should have made this new lotion on a (2) for hold in a different color and made more money. You aren't fooling anyone who regularly buys these in bulk. Had to switch to axe paste and It sucks too, but less than the new formula. Bring back the old one. You'll have a forever buyer.
After finally finding a replacement jar of this product - so I thought - I, too, was VERY disappointed to discover the newer jar was not the same as the jar I purchased 6 mos. ago. The jar I just finished has the word "NEW" on the label (see Pic 1). I loved the results and, most important, the fragrance....smelled like The Body Shop's African Spa/Spa Wisdom products (pre-2006). It was a light beige colored cream paste and was not oily. The recently purchased jar does not have the same back label as the previous jar (see Pic 2). It does not have the word "NEW" on it, has a completely different texture than my last jar and has a strong floral fragrance. It is more of a white cream, doesn't give my hair the same body and leaves an oily residue. What's up with this, L'Oreal???? Speaking of The Body Shop, I can no longer find African Spa or Spa Wisdom products. I loved the fragrance of these products, which is the reason I settled on the TXT IT 02 - it smelled exactly like the spa products! Since L'Oreal owns The Body Shop (2006), I wonder if there's any correlation between the obvious discontinuance of the spa products and my first jar of TXT IT 02 product.
Was buying this product for the past 2 years and loved the way I could style my hair until recently. Looks like the formula was changed and doesn't have the same consistency as before. Please bring back the old formula!
New Formula - 1031402 LR Old Formula - 1031369 LR2 The new formula makes this a COMPLETELY different product. Gone are the days of the old formula, which I could use to style, and hold my hair for the entire day without an issue. I'd use it along with pomades to ensure my style would endure, or alone for a completely locked-in style that could last through multiple gym sessions in a day without needing restyled. Now, there's almost no hold at all. The scent is much improved, as is the ease of application and styling, but the primary use for this product, for me (for years) was always for the insane hold; and that is now gone. I'm extremely disappointed, and I'm also disappointed there was no indication on the front of the jar that would alert me to this change of formula. Wish I would have known this before I bought two jars.
