I got this camera to add to my system. It works great day and night. Great picture quality.
I tried another system (First Alert with 7" monitor) and the picture quality was terrible. The images with this system are very clear and great color outside and pretty good inside, but colors are a bit washed out indoors. I would not let this deter me, the images are still quite good. The infrared may be a bit too strong for subjects less than twelve feet away, but images are still decent, even in total darkness.With 2G card I can record several hours of constant filming or several days of motion detect recording. The motion detect works well. The recording is slightly larger than a deck of cards and easily hidden. A small unobtrusive wire is included so you can still use the remote control when the recording unit is concealed. You could even lock it up in a box with just the small antenna protruding. You have the choice of two recording qualities...and both are good. I use the smaller one which extends recording time and I cant see any different in the images. I bought a Viore 13 inch tv for a monitor so I dont tie up my television with the security unit. Installation is very easy and programming is a breeze. I love this unit. I also ordered another add on camera and it works great also.
Motion sensor is a joke. I bought this camera to catch people breaking into cars in my neighborhood. So you would think that by focusing the camera directly on my car it would activate when I walked by the car. It didn't . I had to walk directly up to the camera and jump up and down in front of it waving my arms to get the motion sensor to work. FAIL. Remote control for the receiver stopped working after about 5 minutes of use? FAIL Recording quality in high def is marginally accceptable during the daytime. You can't make out any facial features in night mode...even with external lighting. FAIL Walmart did a great job of delivering!!! Ordered Tuesday afternoon it was her Wednesday. GREAT JOB WALMART
