The guitar is cool looking, with the moon phase fret markers and the logo on the headstock. Sounds a little tinny, but it's small and light and fun to play. A short 22 1/2" scale length makes the strings easy to fret for beginners and experienced musicians as well. The gig bag is nothing to write home about, it'll keep the dust out, but doesn't provide much protection against bumps or dings. It's basically a canvas bag with no padding whatsoever. The fit and finish on the guitar I bought was excellent. I would recommend to anyone wanting a smaller guitar for well under $200.
I got this guitar for my junior teenager - she's taking a guitar class at the highschool. Her band teacher rates the Luna brand as good quality (along with the famous names of Yamaha, Taylor, Gibson, and a half dozen others that I can't remember). He specified that I was not to curse her with some cheap brand that would be sheer frustration. I was concerned about getting a hulking big guitar for my girl who is not very tall and has small hands. (She wears a Jr. size 3/4) In her hands, this is the right size. It doesn't look like her grandpa's waders, or a kid's toy. It has a nice sound, the frets are well placed with perfect spacing. On cheap brands (or cheap versions of normally-good brands), the frets are frequently placed incorrectly. Also, the case is not padded, and is kind of an ugly color, but it at least has backpack straps. A teen can ride a bike with this guitar on her back, though I think a padded or hardshell case would be better. (The school has racks for guitars, but hardshell full-size guitars do not fit in the racks.) It is 35" from the tip to the bottom, plus another 3/8" for the bottom nut. At it's widest point, the face is 12 6/8". And the thickness is 3 2/8". If I buy a case, I want one that has an outside pocket that a standard music book can fit into. It is returnable, since it's Walmart, but I'm glad it passed the teacher-test and I don't have to return it. The finish is smooth, and nice to the touch. Ready to go out of the box. I think I'll save the box in case I want to sell/mail it someday.
