The frets have a slight roughness on the ends, which is readily repaired. The tone and volume knobs are stunning, and the finish on the top, back, and neck is really shiny. I own Gibson's, Martins, and Fenders and was intrigued about this guitar's quality and playability. It sounds great via my 50W tube combo amp. Plays quite good. It's really simple to worry. I am quite satisfied with it and want to keep it. I have around 20 guitars and have been playing since "1969."
This axe arrived in five days, and despite the brown, cardboard packaging being a touch thin, it arrived without a damage. I tuned it, and it performed great right away. This is a great nice electric guitar for the money that I would suggest to anyone who likes the Les Paul design. This beautiful instrument weighs roughly 10 pounds, so do some pushups beforehand.
I have owned a 79' Les Paul standard and this inexpensive copy is GREAT for money. I have not played it much i just got it, but can't be beat for under $200
This is the second one I bought because for $219 it can't be beat. I am surprised at how well these Lyx brand guitars play and sound for the money!!
Product delivered as quoted. Good condition and operational. Thumbs up!
Pots are of poor quality and are improperly connected. The tone pot on the neck regulates simply the tone, not the loudness. In the center position, the lower volume pot remains at full blast until around two and then turns off. I'll have to take it to a nearby store and get the pots replaced. I was quite disappointed. I've paid less for better secondhand Epiphone guitars. addendum: a local chain guitar store laughed me out of there, saying I should simply return it, so I hunted out a local luthier/guitar expert, who examined it straight away, confirmed the improper wiring, and charged me $70 to repair everything inside, including the switch, rather than patch a lousy job.
I bought this because I have seen many Youtube reviews and thought is was a bargain. Build quality was pretty good with the exception of a fingerprint under the clear coat. Not a big deal you can't see it from a few feet away. The frets are good and level no fret sprout. The finger board did need a little hydrating again not a big deal. The only real thing and reason I couldn't give this 4 or 5 stars is the pick ups squeal/feedback even on a clean amp settings. Probably not wax potted and that seems to be an issue with a lot of affordable guitars. I can wax pot them myself and for me not a lot of work but I think I'll just swap them out for now with a set of Epiphone ones I have in my parts box. Other than that the guitar looks and is easy to play. I use it thru Danelectro Honeytone rockman style head set and it sound good thru those. (no feedback issues) One thing I almost forgot, the tuners seem to work very well the guitar stays in tune very good. I do recommend changing the strings ASAP. I pretty much do this with every guitar I buy especially the affordable ones.
This is a review for the replacement I received after the original was returned due to shipping damage. The replacement arrived undamaged. This guitar is heavier than any of my others since it is made of solid wood and has a thick body. The fit and quality are excellent. This finish has no explosion; it is a gold top. As is customary with inexpensive guitars, I spent a significant amount of work smoothing the fret sprout on the nut and neck. I had to level and crown roughly 5 elevated frets on this example, and they all needed polishing. I took the time to A-B it with my best guitars once I was comfortable with the neck and placed on some NYXLs. The tone was a little louder than my favorite high-end axes, but I was satisfied enough not to switch the pickups. Tuning machinery and pots performed admirably. This instrument will be utilized for rehearsals and riskier places, allowing me to leave my others at home. All in all, this was a smart investment for me. If you don't have the expertise to execute a solid setup yourself, count on paying a technician to bring out the most in this instrument.
great guitar but it was damaged aesthetically. the big down side to shopping on line. just tired of the hassle to have to send something back that is damaged.
Fake reviews . I noticed that about ten reviews in a row had a last name starting with W. Weird last names such as Wildman.
